Dwayne Johnson admits he pees in bottles on set
As a long-time admirer of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, I must say I find myself both amused and a bit bewildered by the latest revelations about his off-screen antics. On one hand, it’s refreshing to see such an accomplished star maintaining a sense of humor amidst the relentless demands of Hollywood. The image of him casually admitting to peeing in a bottle while juggling multiple projects is undeniably charming and endearing.
Dwayne Johnson has a very full schedule, and at times, when nature requires it, he may choose to use a bottle rather than visiting the restroom.
The actor recently chatted with GQ magazine to publicize his upcoming holiday movie titled “Red One.” During the interview, he opened up about his childhood experiences and expressed his desire to step away from the limelight temporarily.
In the interview, he was questioned regarding an article from The Wrap published this year, suggesting that delays by Johnson during the movie’s set production amounted to millions of dollars due to his tardiness. The report also contained a statement implying that Johnson has a habit of urinating in water bottles on film sets.
During an interview with GQ, Johnson openly acknowledged the speculations, stating: “Indeed, I resort to using a bottle for urination at times.
He also stated that being late “happens too”, but added that it wasn’t the amount reported. “That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous,” he said, calling the controversy “bullshit”.
Director Jake Kasdan of the film “Red One” noted that Johnson’s tardiness was common within the industry, explaining further: “[Johnson] has never skipped a workday and he’s juggling a lot. Occasionally, he might arrive late, but that’s just how things are in Hollywood.
Chris Evans explained that his co-star isn’t showing up unpredictably or excessively late. Instead, he arrives a bit later sometimes, but this is all according to schedule.
He always arrives at his scheduled times since it has been incorporated into his schedule and everyone is aware of it.
Regardless of an impressive ensemble featuring Johnson, Evans, JK Simmons, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju and Wesley Kimmel, not to mention a substantial budget, the film Red One has failed to win over audiences.
Currently, it’s earning a 33% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and Digital Spy’s evaluation labels it as a “disappointing holiday movie.
Red One is out in UK cinemas now, and releases in the US on November 15.
