Dupreeh after Falcons’ win over 9z at BetBoom Dacha: “It feels good to finally feel like we can also win.”

As a long-time fan of CS:GO and especially the Falcons, seeing them secure their spot in the BetBoom Dacha playoffs was a moment of pure joy. The team has been through its fair share of ups and downs, but the resilience displayed against 9z was a testament to their determination.

Falcons got their revenge and are through BetBoom Dacha playoffs.

On August 26, during the BetBoom Dacha CS2 2024 event on Monday, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen and his team, Falcons, successfully avenged their earlier loss against 9z, ultimately securing a spot in the playoffs as one of the two teams emerging from the play-in stage.

In contrast to their initial match, where they narrowly triumphed 2-1, this recent encounter saw the Falcons turn the tables. On Dust 2, they trailed initially (2-7), but managed to catch up (13-9) in the first map itself. Subsequently, they swept past their South American opponents on Mirage with a convincing scoreline of 13-1.

Esports.gg secured an interview with dupreeh following Falcons’ elimination of 9z from BetBoom Dacha. In the conversation, they discussed his team’s preparation for the game and their ambitions during the playoffs where they will face off against formidable opponents like Team Spirit and MOUZ.

All the maps today were the same as the last match against 9z. Did you think they’d pick Mirage again?

Indeed, we made the choice to switch things up this time around because although we had a strong beginning last round, with a score of 5-1 in our favor, their team seemed to have developed an effective strategy against us, ultimately winning the map. In anticipation of Mirage, I believe they also prepared themselves for our selection of Dust 2. Consequently, it appears that both teams recognized the need for change today.

Was there a lot of anti-stratting involved on Mirage this time around?

“Not exactly, but rather, our approach was based on our unique strategy concerning the map. We understand the importance of being constantly active, making moves, and trying to secure kills instead of just waiting for them to come to us. I believe this tactic served us well today, as we not only played better individually, but also managed to get some impressive double kills. Additionally, we had some excellent reads which contributed to our success.”

Now that Falcons have reached playoffs, what is the next goal here at BetBoom Dacha?

Just as in the play-ins, let’s focus on one game at a time. This winning streak might just be our best yet for the Falcons, and it feels great to finally have that sense of victory. With more formidable opponents joining the playoffs, it will be exciting to test ourselves against them all. Given our current form, I believe we can hold our own against any team in the playoffs.
