A popular show is coming back with a new season, bringing back the beloved characters fans have grown to love.
The second issue of Dark Horse Comics’ popular series, Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks, by Greg Pak with art by Wilton Santos, Edvan Alves, and Raúl Angulo, arrives on March 11th. The comic, based on Jaleigh Johnson’s 2024 novel Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks: Bound for Ruin, launched in October to positive reviews, bringing these characters to the world of comics for the first time.
The movie Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks featured Chris Pine, Sophia Lillis, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, and Justice Smith as a group of heroes who teamed up to prevent a disaster. Since a sequel seems unlikely, Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks is a great option for fans who want to continue enjoying the story.

In the latest issue of Dark Horse Comics’ Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks #2, the group has successfully raided the tomb of the Lost Lord of Loudwater. However, the treasure they found might come with a dangerous price. Their actions have awakened a powerful white dragon, which is now attacking Loudwater, and the Fallbacks must race to protect the town.
Okay, so the story is really picking up! It sounds like things are getting crazy in Loudwater with this dragon threat – everyone’s worried it’ll freeze the whole town! But get this – there’s also a Tournament of Heroes happening, and it’s the perfect chance for my favorite team, the Fallbacks, to finally prove they’re better than Angrilyne’s crew… if they can actually win, that is!
What Is Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks About?
I was so excited when Jaleigh Johnson finally released Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks: Bound for Ruin in 2024, and it totally lived up to the hype! It introduces this amazing group of adventurers called the Fallbacks. There’s Tessalynde, a really ambitious rogue, and Anson, who’s a fighter and super stubborn. Then you’ve got Cazrin, a wizard who taught himself everything he knows, and Baldric, a clever cleric. Lark is the bard of the group, and she secretly writes songs, which is adorable! Oh, and they have a pet otyugh named Uggie – seriously, an otyugh! I instantly fell in love with them all.
In Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks: Bound for Ruin, the heroes searched for a powerful spellbook and ended up responsible for a magical book that craved blood. Despite facing dangerous enemies like ruthless mercenaries and the undead, the Fallbacks made it through. Now, the comic series from Dark Horse introduces a new group of adventurers, and it seems the Fallbacks will encounter many more teams like them in future issues.
Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks from Dark Horse Comics is on sale now.
