Dune, The Witcher star joins new Game of Thrones prequel show as Leo Tyrell

As a devoted fan who has weathered the highs and lows of Westeros for years, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming prequel series, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”. The small-scale, adventure-filled narrative promises to be a refreshing change from the grandiose wars that have dominated our screens thus far.

The second installment of “House of the Dragon” has concluded, with season 3 not expected until around 2026. However, we’ll have a chance to return to Westeros before then. In the meantime, HBO is set to premiere a fresh “Game of Thrones” prequel series next year, titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms“. This upcoming show is inspired by George R.R. Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas.

Leo “Lornhorn” Tyrell, renowned as one of the finest knights ever produced by the Tyrell family.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about Leo! He’s unwavering, a masterful knight, and highly respected among his peers. According to the Redanian Intelligence, this remarkable individual will be portrayed by Steve Wall – an actor known for his roles in series like Vikings, Raised by Wolves, Dune: Part Two, and The Witcher, where he showcased his talent as Boholt in the first season. This marks the first time a member of House Tyrell has appeared on our screens since Lady Olenna Tyrell’s departure in the seventh season of Game of Thrones. I can hardly wait to witness Steve Wall bring Leo to life!

In the Seven Kingdoms, the Tyrells hold dominion over the Reach, so it’s reasonable to expect at least one of them to participate in a tournament taking place within that region. Wall becomes an integral part of an extensive ensemble. Here’s who we know is featured in the series as of now:

  • Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall, aka Dunk, the good-hearted hero of our story
  • Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg, Dunk’s squire
  • Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree, an elderly knight and Dunk’s master
  • Finn Bennett as Aerion “Brightflame” Targaryen, a half-mad Targaryen prince
  • Bertie Carvel as Baelor “Breakspear” Targaryen, Aerion’s more level-headed uncle
  • Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen, Aerion’s father
  • Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, a puppeteer
  • Daniel Ings as Lyonel Baratheon, who participates in the tourney
  • Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway
  • Shaun Thomas (How to Have Sex) as Raymun Fossoway
  • Youssef Kerkour (House of Gucci) as Steely Pate
  • Daniel Monks (Kaos) as Ser Manfred Dondarrion
  • Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Avengers: Infinity War) as Plummer
  • Ross Anderson as Humfrey Hardyng
  • Steven Calvert as a Stormland knight
  • Rowan Robinson as Rowan
  • Abigail O’Regan in an unknown role

News from Redanian Intelligence indicates that Nina Jamil has joined the team of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” as an intimacy coordinator, which suggests at least one intimate scene will be featured in the show. The premiere is scheduled for HBO and Max sometime next year; a specific release date is yet to be announced. Stay tuned!
