As a longtime fan of gripping narratives and high-stakes competition, I am thrilled about the upcoming season of “Sekai Taikai” on Apple TV+. The added twist of Tori joining Kreese’s Cobra Kai certainly adds an intriguing layer to the storyline, and I can only imagine how this will challenge our beloved heroes.

2024 Autumn TV lineup signifies a refreshing step back to regular programming following the disruption caused by Hollywood strikes in the previous year. Networks like NBC and ABC have already launched their schedules, with CBS set to join soon. Streaming platforms and cable television are also gearing up for numerous premieres. The main part seems to be scheduled around mid-October; however, there’s an array of shows on streaming services from then until the end of November to look forward to! Here’s a brief overview of the most anticipated new shows for TV enthusiasts coming this fall!
Lioness season 2
October 27 on Paramount+
In Season 2 of the Paramount+ spy thriller, Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman return with even more exhilarating action. A fresh recruit joins the special ops team as they confront a new adversary and a fresh mission. Yet, it seems that their most significant threat might originate from within. Morgan Freeman takes on a larger part in this escapade, as Season 2 aims to ramp up the stakes dramatically in storytelling and deliver an action-packed year.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to announce that Selena Gomez and David Henrie are reuniting for a long-awaited sequel series to our cherished Disney Channel classic! In this continuation, David’s character, Justin, has found contentment in his ordinary life with his loving family. However, the unexpected arrival of Alex (Selena) brings along a young protege named Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown), who happens to be a budding witch in need of guidance.

For enthusiasts of Hallmark films, these movies are either beloved holidays specials or captivating mysteries. Given this pattern, it’s only fitting that the upcoming series on Hallmark+ merges both genres seamlessly. In a quaint town, Sarah Drew portrays Emily Lane, the proprietor of a year-round Christmas store. When murders take place in the community, Emily exhibits hidden talents that leave a local police officer (Peter Mooney) questioning whether there’s more to her than initially perceived. Although it might be premature for the holiday season, this show should certainly stir up festive feelings while serving up intriguing mysteries.
Dune: Prophecy

Following the success of the blockbuster movies, this fresh series further develops the science fiction saga. Unlike the films which are set in the future, this series delves into the past, happening 10,000 years before the events depicted in the movies, and uncovers the origins of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood and their clandestine schemes for power. Olivia Williams and Emily Watson portray two sisters entangled in a lethal power struggle, and it shares the stunning visuals of the films. If you’re a fan of House of the Dragon or Dune, this prequel is a must-see for those eager to dive deeper into the fascinating world of the sci-fi epic.
Citadel: Honey Bunny

In the universe of “Citadel,” the expansion resumes yet again. Following closely on the heels of the Italian-based series “Diana” is a new spinoff, this time set in India. What sets it apart is that it’s set in the 1990s when the spy organization Citadel was at its peak. Indian actors Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu star as two agents entangled in a lethal conspiracy hinting at a larger danger. The Indian setting and stars promise to infuse excitement, making it another engaging addition to Prime’s expanding spy series.

With Kevin Costner departing, we’re left pondering the fate of John Dutton and how this may impact his family. The narrative is likely to center more on Beth and Rip as the family feud intensifies. Despite uncertainty about whether the show will truly come to an end or continue, the extended wait only heightens our eagerness for when Yellowstone can finally wrap up its storyline.

Some might find it surprising that this dark comedy is returning for another season, given that Season 1 seemed to tie up all loose ends. However, we discovered who among the sisters murdered the despicable John Paul and managed to escape punishment due to his reprehensible character. This led us to believe a sequel was unlikely, but it’s happening. Two years later, the women have moved on, but their past actions are dredged up again, potentially revealing other secrets. If the humor in this new season is as sharp as before, it promises to be an entertaining return.

If there’s a fictional detective deserving of his own TV show, it’s Alex Cross. James Patterson’s famed investigator now features in this Prime TV series, played by Aldis Hodge. This is an original tale as Cross hunts for who killed his wife, which brings him into the search for a twisted serial killer. It looks like a moody thriller with some fantastic twists, just like fans of the books love. With Hodge in the lead, Cross seems set to win over more fans than ever in a more original tale.
Cobra Kai season 6 part 2
November 15 on Netflix
In the second segment of the last season on Netflix, the Miyagi-Do squad prepares to battle the world’s top karate practitioners at the Sekai Taikai tournament. But they don’t just have to contend with their old foe Kreese, as Tori (Peyton List), still grieving her mother’s passing, has defected to Kreese’s Cobra Kai. As the team grapples with this betrayal, they soon learn how lethal this competition truly is and ramp up the suspense as the series approaches its climax.

Following a lengthy delay, the long-anticipated second installment of the sci-fi series has arrived! In our previous encounter, Juliette (played by Rebecca Ferguson) discovered that the seemingly perfect Earth was just an illusion, leaving her in a desolate landscape surrounded by evidence of multiple silos. The upcoming season promises to explore the origins and number of these silos, potentially uncovering the truth about what happened to Earth initially. In my excitement as a fan, I can’t help but share the news that Taylor Sheridan, a man already brimming with projects, is now adding another gem to Paramount+. The series stars Billy Bob Thornton as a guardian of an oil field for his friend, Jon Hamm. Just when things seem settled, Thornton’s ex-wife, Ali Larter, and kids make an unexpected appearance. As Thornton enforces frontier justice to safeguard the land, Hamm and his wife, Demi Moore, are seen navigating the equally perilous terrain of Houston high society and business. With its blend of oil rig action and corporate power struggles reminiscent of both “Yellowstone” and “Succession”, this show is shaping up to be a must-watch!
