As a gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that hearing about yet another game having issues with the Xbox Series S is becoming increasingly concerning. It seems like every new title is faced with challenges on this console due to its lower specs. The latest example being “Dune: Awakening,” which, unfortunately, will be making its debut on PC before consoles.
It seems that the upcoming MMO “Dune: Awakening” is experiencing difficulties in compatibility with Xbox Series S due to its lower specifications. Interestingly, the game will initially be released on PC rather than consoles, as stated by developer Funcom.
In an interview at Gamescom, Chief Product Officer Scott Junior stated, “One of the reasons we’re releasing it first on PC is for optimization purposes. We need to make numerous adjustments before it can be released on the Xbox. However, the Xbox Series S is indeed a challenging task.” (Credit: VG247)
Earlier, Baldur’s Gate 3 was hit with numerous delays because Larian was dealing with the Xbox Series S issues. There are rumors that Black Myth: Wukong has been postponed on Xbox due to the Series S’s technical limitations. However, in the latter case, it’s believed a potential Sony exclusivity deal might be the reason for the delay.
Dune: Awakening seems quite grandiose, as it is set in an expansive desert landscape of Arrakis. However, it appears that we’ll have to exercise patience as the game isn’t expected to launch on PC until early 2025.
