Duncan Bannatyne, 76, ‘in recovery’ following surgery as wife Nigora Whitehorn, 45, shares snap of the mogul from his hospital bed – months after he broke leg and ‘almost died’
Duncan Bannatyne‘s spouse, Nigora Whitehorn, has disclosed that he is undergoing recovery in the hospital after an unspecified operation, several months subsequent to fracturing his leg and near-death experience following a wasp sting.
On Tuesday, she posted an image on her Instagram Stories, which showed the former Dragon’s Den star, aged 76, resting in bed while using a nasal cannula to help him breathe.
45-year-old Nigora, originally from Uzbekistan, labeled a heartfelt photograph ‘healing’ with a love heart emoji enclosed by a bandage as its caption.
Subsequently, she shared a stylish self-portrait featuring bold eye makeup while seated beside her cherished spouse in his hospital room.
TopMob have contacted Duncan’s representatives for comment.

In January, an accident during a dance performance in St. Barts left Duncan needing to wear a knee brace and use a walking cane for support.
With a crutch for support, he was ready to depart from Gustaf III Airport in St Barts, visibly wearing a brace on his right leg.
Eight weeks ago, he fractured his leg in London and was progressing quite well in recovery. However, this improvement was halted during a vacation filled with dancing that lasted until 4 am in the Caribbean. His representative shared this information with TopMob’s Richard Eden previously.
Adding: ‘He used his leg brace to get back in recovery for his flight and is feeling fine now.’
In the previous month, I found myself in an unforgettable and rather harrowing experience during my vacation with my spouse in Mexico. I came perilously close to meeting my maker when I was stung by a dragonfly. Quite an unexpected turn of events!
The wealthy individual revealed that following his illness, he developed a sensation of dryness in his throat, making speech difficult. However, when a doctor administered an injection to alleviate the discomfort, it helped.
On BBC Radio 4’s Decisions That Made Me A Leader, Duncan reminisced about a close call he had in Mexico not too long ago: ‘I was on the brink of death.’
I developed an infection on my hand, from a bite it seems. It’s become quite swollen. Among the group of seven couples, one lady suggested that I should seek medical attention.

In simple terms, ‘My wife called the doctor, and while I was lying down on our bed, he mentioned he would administer an injection due to a dragonfly issue. He then injected me in my hip, causing me to roll onto my back.’
I found myself in a still position as he conversed with my spouse. Suddenly, a parching sensation ascended from my throat, making me unbearably thirsty and unable to utter a word. Meanwhile, my heart pounded irregularly, beating rapidly and heavily.
Duncan mentioned that he was able to regain the medic’s focus once more, stating: “He administered this injection which alleviated my symptoms, followed by obtaining some pills from the pharmacy.
He mentioned that he’s now contemplating drafting a will more thoroughly, as a precaution for any potential health issues in the future.
Duncan went on to say: ‘What will happen once I’m no longer here? At some point in your life, someone who’s quite old might tell you, when I pass away, please do this. However, I don’t want to wait until then. I want to start making the arrangements now.’
The lion share of his estimated £400 million fortune will go to his ‘soul mate’ Nigora.
Duncan got married for the third time in 1987 and again in 2006, having previously wed Gail Brodie and Joanne McCue. With Gail, he had four children, and with Joanna, he had two.
In 2016, Duncan made his proposal to Nigora during a trip to Monte Carlo. Their relationship had begun in 2015, following Duncan’s visit to a dental clinic on London’s Harley Street that same year, where Nigora was working at the time. He had first encountered her in 2014.
