Dudunsparce makes its Pokémon GO debut for the Completely Normal event

Totally normal. Nothing unusual at all, except for some Dudunsparce and Ditto.

Dudunsparce can now be found in Pokemon GO during the Regular Event, along with additional Ditto disguises.

This Land Snake Pokemon, specifically of the Normal type, is capable of constructing extensive underground burrows using its drill-like tail. Some kind-hearted Dudunsparce will aid any lost Pokemon by carrying them on their backs and guiding them back to the nest entrance.

A Dudunsparce can have either a two-part or a three-part structure, which is primarily influenced by its genes. Compared to their two-segment counterparts, Dudunsparces in the three-segment form exhibit larger and elongated bodies.

Despite Dudunsparce not being one of the top 10 best Normal-type attackers in the game, players who are dedicated to filling their Pokédex may want to look forward to Dudunsparce’s debut during Pokémon GO’s “Completely Normal” Event.

How to get Dudunsparce in Pokémon GO

Unlike past events such as Sunkissed Shores, the initial Pokémon in the Completely Normal event won’t be obtained through raids. Instead, players need to catch its pre-evolved form, Dunsparce, and transform it into Dudunsparce by using 50 Dudunsparce Candy for evolution.

Completely Normal event: What else to expect

The “Completely Normal” event for Pokémon GO will take place from September 23, 10 a.m., until September 27, 8 p.m., in your local time zone.

The event bonuses that participants will enjoy are the following:

  • 2x Candy for capturing Pokémon
  • 2x XP for evolving Pokémon
  • Increased chance to find a Shiny Dunsparce
  • Increased chance to get a Ditto encounter

Individuals who haven’t finished the Special Research tasks related to Meltan, Let’s GO, and A Mythical Discovery (these tasks include capturing a Ditto), have the opportunity to benefit from the heightened Ditto encounter rate during the Completely Normal event.

Strive to capture as many wild creatures as possible! Remember, it’s only when you meet one that you’ll discover if it’s a Ditto.

Completely Normal wild spawns

Go outside and see these Pokémon spawn all around you during the Completely Normal event:

  • Dunsparce
  • Buneary
  • Sentret
  • Audino

Additionally, you could run into other Pokémon related to specific events, many of which are Normal type. On rare occasions, if luck is on your side, you may stumble upon a Shiny Pokémon.

Research tasks and event-themed items

Attendees of the Entirely Ordinary event can look forward to engaging in various research missions themed around the event, which offer rewards such as items, experience points, and encounters with Pokémon like Miltank, Spinda, and Dunsparce specifically associated with the event.

Hey there fellow trainer! I’ve got some exciting news – there’s a fresh Collection Challenge that just dropped! In this one, you’ll be on a mission to catch and develop specific Pokémon to earn awesome prizes and exclusive encounters with event-themed creatures. So grab your Pokeballs and let’s get hunting!

If you’re open to investing a bit, you could think about purchasing a $2 Timed Research from the Pokémon GO Web Store. This purchase will allow you to complete a research task, yielding additional rewards such as XP, Lucky Eggs, and increased encounters with Dunsparce.

Last but not least, during the upcoming event, players can look forward to the introduction of a brand-new Avatar item known as the Dudunsparce Onesie. This item will be available for purchase once the event commences.

Tips during the Dudunsparce Debut and Completely Normal event in Pokémon GO

  • Use as many Pinap berries as you can while catching Pokémon to maximize your candy-earning potential.
  • Another way to get more Dunsparce Candy is by mega evolving Normal-type Pokémon. We only have four Normal types that can mega evolve in the game so far, and these are Pidgeot, Kangaskhan, Lopunny, and Audino.
  • Catching Dunsparce during Partly Cloudy weather will allow you to catch some with higher CPs.
