As someone who has spent years observing the lives of celebrities, I can’t help but admire Dua Lipa’s tenacity and ambition. The singer’s determination to turn her Hampstead mansion into a mega-basement, complete with all the luxurious amenities one could imagine, is nothing short of inspiring.

Dua Lipa is tasked with a substantial project: approximately 500 metric tons of earth will be removed for the construction of an expansive basement, which will feature a music studio and swimming pool among its amenities.

The singer needed more than three years to convince the local council to approve the large-scale project at her home in Hampstead, which they eventually did.

For the construction crew, the true tough phase has only started as they demolish the house and garden, and dig down a depth of six meters underground.

This works out about 1425 cubic metres, equivalent of 503 tonnes of soil and other materials.

The upcoming basement is four times larger than the current one, spanning approximately 310 square meters, as opposed to the previous 72.5 square meter space.

The star bought the property in January 2020 and put in a planning application to her local council the following year for a ground floor extension and basement with a music studio, pool, gym, cinema and chill-out area.

This year in March, the council ultimately endorsed her proposals; however, they enforced stringent terms within a Section 106 contract due to the substantial influence the construction was expected to have on nearby neighbors.

Following concerns raised by a local conservation organization regarding the “reduction of green areas,” “elimination of trees,” and “potential drainage problems,” I’ve found myself in a pause, as my application has been temporarily halted.

The design crew of Dua decided to construct a rooftop garden rich in biodiversity, hidden atop the basement, aimed at harmonizing with the surrounding greenery. This green space will serve dual purposes: providing sustenance for local fauna and offering them habitat.

She had an audio report for the pool, which says that if her application is successful then the noise from the pool engine room can’t be any higher than 28 decibels, which is roughly the sound of someone softly whispering (25db).

As per the outlined construction management strategy, the renovation project is expected to be finished by April next year, spanning a duration of approximately 12 months.

As a diligent supporter, I’ve been accustomed to encountering hurdles in the application process. Specifically, I’ve found myself delving into three comprehensive reports aimed at evaluating potential harm to neighbors’ properties from a basement, focusing on issues such as subsidence and flood risk. Notably, basements are categorized as “highly vulnerable” areas, which adds complexity to my task.

As reported by The Sun, her team warned the officials: “Excavating a basement might potentially allow sounds and vibrations to reach nearby properties.

In this situation, since the current home stands independently and the excavation work will be done manually, the level of sound spreading out will likely be minimized.

To ensure safety, we’ll keep track of any movements within the structure, providing us with advance notice if there are any signs of building movement.

The multiple GRAMMY-winning celebrity, with an estimated net worth of £75 million, purchased the expansive estate back in 2017 at the age of 22.

Last year, permission was granted for Dua to commence work, however, it was necessary to restrict construction activities due to this. Moreover, the machinery should be installed using ‘vibration dampeners’ to prevent inconveniencing the neighbors.

Last year, a source shared with The Sun that Dua Lipa’s designs for her home are grandiose; following a four-year wait, she has begun searching for contractors to initiate construction on her music studio, swimming pool, fitness center, movie theater, and relaxation zone.

She needs to follow specific rigorous terms due to strong opposition towards her proposals, concerning the reduction of green areas.

To maintain a quiet work environment, her construction crew should minimize the noise from power tools to barely audible levels, and ensure that all machinery is securely fastened with shock absorbers or vibration isolators.

It’s important that no one notices any work being done, as Dua’s neighbors might become irritated if they do. To avoid causing any inconvenience, Dua desires to carry out the work quietly. She eagerly anticipates transforming her house into a comfortable home.

To ensure safety, we’ll closely watch for any signs of movement in the building as a precautionary step, so we can provide an early alert if there are any shifts or movements.

Last year, she received approval for the project, yet construction needed to be constrained due to limitations, and the machinery required installation of ‘vibration dampeners’ to prevent bothering the neighbors.

She needs to follow some very rigorous contracts due to the strong opposition that arose concerning her proposals, which involved the reduction of green spaces.

To minimize noise, her construction crew should operate power tools softly, almost like a whisper, and ensure that all machinery is equipped with anti-vibration cushions or mounts.

“Dua prefers to keep her work discreet as her neighbors might complain about it. She aims to avoid causing any inconvenience and eventually transform her residence into a welcoming abode.
