DRX names K-pop idol Hina of QWER as new brand ambassador

In a fresh development, the young and enthusiastic VALORANT player from QWER, named Hina, steps into a new position as the DRX’s brand representative for all esports competitions.

DRX announces that the acclaimed K-pop artist Jang “Hina” Nayoung (장나영) has been named their latest brand representative. Hina, who is a member of the up-and-coming Korean group QWER, is also well-known in South Korea for her cosplay activities and TikTok presence.

Beyond her K-pop profession, Hina is passionately involved in gaming as well and shares an existing bond with one of DRX’s popular game titles – VALORANT. Not only does she play this game, but she also featured in a YouTube series alongside various content creators during the VCT Champions 2024 event held in South Korea.

In a two-part show titled “Valorant’s Five-Member Team” (translated from 발로란트 5인뇽), which was hosted by Hina and Kim Egg, Hina assembled an elite team consisting of other content creators, taking them on a tour of the venue and its activations.

Regarding her association with VALORANT, DRX informed Xpsp that Hina would function as an ambassador for the entirety of their esports ventures, including League of Legends. The team highlighted their intentions to work with her on various projects throughout the coming year.

In response to queries about Hina potentially joining the DRX VALORANT squad for the VCT Champions Paris event in September, the team remained cryptic, simply mentioning that all possibilities are still under consideration.

Who are QWER?

The QWER band, a quartet emerging from the QWER Project series on YouTube, was established in 2023. Despite their relatively recent formation, they have amassed several awards such as “Best Band” at the K-World Dream Awards and “Rookie of the Year” at the Asia Artist Awards in 2024.

In simpler terms, the band QWER comprises Hina on guitar and keyboards, Chodan who handles drums and backup vocals, Magenta playing bass and backup vocals, and Siyeon as the lead vocalist and also plays the guitar. Before forming QWER, Chodan and Magenta were popular Twitch streamers, while Siyeon was previously a member of the Japanese idol group NMB48.
