In preparation for Julian Klausner’s debut collection with the Antwerp-based label in March, Dries Van Noten has unveiled plans to expand their retail presence worldwide, starting with openings in Spring 2025 and extending throughout the year. According to a statement shared with WWD, the brand is excited about establishing stores in key cities like New York, London, Milan, Brussels, and Tokyo, where they see great growth opportunities.
In every location I choose, I strive to pay tribute to the city’s essence, its character, culture, and architectural charm. My aim is to design spaces that resonate with my brand’s identity, yet are deeply rooted in their local environment. Each space tells a unique story, contributing to a larger, cohesive narrative – a tale that unfolds differently in every place we inhabit.” (Van Noten’s words, as shared in the WWD interview)
Currently, Dries Van Noten operates a total of eight physical stores that it owns directly, along with over 400 retailers who carry its products. After being purchased by Puig in 2018, the brand embarked on an expansion journey, starting with new locations in Shanghai and Los Angeles in 2020. In 2022, they added a store in Chengdu, China to their list. In 2023, the Quai Malaquais concept store of Dries Van Noten was launched, specializing in accessories and beauty products.
Here are the locations of our upcoming boutiques:
1. In New York, you’ll find us at 168 Mercer Street.
2. In London, we’re located at 21 Hanover Square.
3. In Brussels, visit us at 89 Rue Antoine Dansaert.
4. In Tokyo, our store is at 5-5-4 Minami Aoyama.
5. And in Milan, we’ll be at 11 Via Brera.
Each of these stores will open in March and April, with the Milan store expected to open in the third quarter. The New York and London stores will cater to both fashion and beauty, while the Milan and Brussels stores will primarily focus on beauty and accessories.
Despite Klausner being at the head of the company, Van Noten continues to contribute to the creative direction of the brand. In an interview with WWD, he expressed that collaboration is key for both him and Klausner: “For us, it’s essential that everyone involved feels connected to our brand.” He further explained, “These stores symbolize our ongoing narrative; they have mirrored our identity for years and now they will reveal Klausner’s collection.
Klausner remarked that our shops are one-of-a-kind, and he takes great pride in having his creations housed within them. He emphasized that it was crucial for us to design these places so they respect both our history and our vision for the future.
On March 5th, Julian Klausner is set to debut his inaugural Dries Van Noten collection at Paris Fashion Week. Keep an eye on TopMob for updates and the latest fashion show reports from this exciting event!
