Drew McIntyre & multiple performers reportedly upset after WWE Royal Rumble
Behind the scenes in WWE, events aren’t always as they appear on camera. As per various sources, an incident involving Drew McIntyre transpired during the Men’s Royal Rumble match, which left the ex-champion displeased at the conclusion of the event. Yet, further reports suggest that McIntyre wasn’t alone in his dissatisfaction.
Initially, PWInsider broke the news about McIntyre’s intense backstage reaction following his elimination from the match, which involved him shouting and swearing. Later, he angrily left the arena before the main event had concluded. During the post-show discussion that same night, Dave Meltzer provided additional details.
Meltzer mentioned that he had indeed come across information regarding Drew. The story, initially reported by Mike Johnson, seems to be valid. There were several individuals who felt frustrated during the match because it appeared as though one participant was more focused on promoting himself rather than the contest itself. However, multiple sources have informed me that Drew’s dissatisfaction – this is not a part of a storyline – is genuine. I’ve also heard that Drew isn’t the only person who’s unhappy about the current situation.
Meltzer chose not to reveal the individual’s identity at this time, hinting that more information might be shared later on.
If you’re acquainted with Drew McIntyre, this isn’t a new sight – his anger often shows after a WWE PPV. However, let me take you back to Survivor Series 2024, the night CM Punk unexpectedly returned at the end of the WarGames bout. Just like before, McIntyre stormed off after the show ended, but remember, he wasn’t the only one feeling frustrated since none of the main stars in that match were prepared for what was about to unfold.
McIntyre is undeniably someone deeply invested in professional wrestling and maintaining its professional standards. His dedication has earned him significant recognition, not just within the WWE, but across the entire industry. During the COVID-19 crisis that largely disrupted operations, he was the one WWE relied on to keep the company afloat, and he did so admirably. If he’s genuinely upset about a matter like this, it suggests something may have gone wrong. It seems others are also dissatisfied with the same situation, as reportedly indicated by media outlets.
