Drew Barrymore reveals extremely awkward encounter with Chris Hemsworth at hair salon: ‘I was freaking out the whole time!’

It’s not every day you get to have a near-miss with a Hollywood icon like her. The fact that they both were too starstruck to introduce themselves adds an extra layer of charm to this story.
Chris Hemsworth caused Drew Barrymore to turn red with embarrassment when he disclosed that they had an uncomfortable run-in at a hair salon, where he unexpectedly spotted her.
On this week’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, an Australian actor made his debut, and it didn’t take long for Drew to remember nearly crossing paths with him in the past.
A decade back, they both got their hair styled at the same salon in Los Angeles. However, Drew was so awe-struck that she didn’t have the courage to make an introduction.
Unfortunately for Drew, Chris had already spotted her.
She shared with Chris, who smiled, that there was a moment when we were both in the same place, and it’s something I keep regretting about. Chris immediately remembered our past meeting.
He found it amusing and shared, “I was having my hair colored, either lightened to blond or darkened for a film titled ‘Blackhat.’ I couldn’t help but laugh about it.
Drew interjected: ‘I was too nervous to go up to you. But the whole hour or two that I was sitting there, I was like, ‘I just want to meet Chris Hemsworth. I just want to meet him and I want to say hello’.’
Chris attempted to comfort the now-grown child actress by expressing that he had been pondering the same thoughts as hers.
‘I just so wanted to be respectful. I was freaking out the whole time!’ Drew said.
The Firestarter star openly shared his continued excitement about people, stating, “Ever since we learned you would be joining our show three weeks ago, we’ve been thrilled, almost as if Chris Hemsworth himself was coming on! I can assure you that this level of awe will never fade from me.
Chris had another awkward experience on Thursday after a trainwreck red carpet interview.
At the Sydney premiere of Transformers One on Wednesday, KIIS FM producer Peter Deppeler, more famously recognized as ‘Intern Pete’ during his on-air appearances, successfully secured an interview with Chris.
The Q&A got off to a rocky start when Pete asked Chris a question about his Transformers One co-star Megan Fox’s sex symbol status.
‘This whole franchise made Megan Fox famous around the world,’ Pete said.
‘Are you excited to become a sex symbol now you’re in Transformers?’
Perplexed by the line of questioning, Chris responded: ‘In the movie, I portrayed an animated version of Megan Fox.’
After some awkward laughter between the two, Pete asked Chris if his question made him laugh.
‘You stumped me,’ Chris replied. ‘I don’t know where to go from that question.’
The interview went downhill from there when Pete presented the Thor star with two envelopes.
In one case, Pete mentioned a question so inappropriate that it could cost him his job, but would guarantee the movie’s success at the box office. On the other hand, the question was dull and uninteresting, failing to motivate anyone to watch the film.
Chris opted for one option, and almost immediately, Pete inquired, “If you were to liken yourself and your brothers’ abilities to Transformers, which one would you be: Bumblebee, Megatron, or Optimus Prime?
Kyle and Jackie voiced their disapproval towards Pete because he prevented Chris from sharing his response, which was clarified as a result of Pete being overly managed or controlled by a public relations representative.
