Drew Barrymore Ditches Dating After Raya Disaster

After reaching the age of 50 last month, Drew Barrymore is wholeheartedly accepting and thriving in her single phase, following what she terms as a tumultuous experience on the exclusive celebrity dating platform, Raya.

On Wednesday, the cherished actress and television talk show host opened up to her fans with a heartfelt essay, sharing thoughts about love, loneliness, and the excitement of embarking on a fresh phase in life.

I can’t help but feel like I’ve reached a turning point, you know? It’s as if my core is pulsating with this indescribable energy, and suddenly it all becomes clear—a new chapter in life is about to unfold, and it feels so incredibly fitting.” (She wrote, according to USWeekly)

‘That’s me. Right now. Fifty years old. And I have to say … I think I love it here.’

Barrymore confessed that she once pursued love, thrill, and adventure, but ultimately discovered that her most fulfilling connection would be the one she has with herself.

She shared that she began focusing on her own needs more than ever before, saying, “I treated myself to one-on-one outings and made cooking for myself feel like a lavish affair, complete with candlelight and background music.

As a self-professed lifestyle connoisseur, I’ve come to cherish the simple pleasures of an evening in, donning my comfortable pajamas and immersing myself in the timeless comedy of The Golden Girls, rather than attending elaborate social gatherings.

Currently, she’s reveling in the liberty that comes with this fresh start – feeling self-assured and prudent yet maintaining a thrill for the unknown, as she hasn’t quite solved all the puzzles yet.

I have a sense of peacefulness that I’ve never experienced before, yet I’m brimming with enthusiasm. Instead of slowing down, I’m gearing up.

Barrymore’s dating life has had its ups and downs, and her experience with Raya was no exception.

2020 saw her expressing optimism about the dating app during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, as she fervently wished that it would lead to her desired encounter – a blind date.

Instead, she called it a ‘car wreck’ and revealed she was even stood up by a restaurant owner.

‘Swiping through Raya was like looking through an Us Weekly,’ she joked.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of being involved in various public romances and have exchanged vows on three separate occasions. Each experience has taught me valuable lessons about love, partnership, and personal growth.

In the year 1994, she had a short-lived marriage with a bartender from Wales named Jeremy Thomas. Later on, between the years 2001 and 2002, she was married to comedian Tom Green.

Her longest marriage was to art consultant Will Kopelman, with whom she tied the knot in 2012.

As a lifestyle expert, I can share that despite parting ways back in 2016, both parents have consistently prioritized a robust co-parenting approach to ensure the wellbeing of their daughters, Olive and Frankie.

Barrymore hasn’t closed the door on love completely, but she has emphasized that her contentment doesn’t hinge on romantic relationships.

‘Should affection, regardless of its kind, appear and enhance things for me, it’s wonderful. Yet, I am unwilling to accept that my life’s journey begins or ends due to another person.’
