However, some guests have requested that the Never Been Kissed star ‘back off.’

‘I’m so touchy,’ Barrymore admitted during an interview with Wicked star Cynthia Erivo. 

‘People have to warn me, they’re like, “Back off a little bit.” And I’m like, “Why?”

In a recent statement, the actress from “50 First Dates” mentioned that she has been focusing on managing the closeness and physical space between herself and her visitors.

Erivo, much like Drew, is wonderfully warm and tactile, making her an ideal conversational partner on this topic.

In a friendly manner, Erivo said to the Ever After lead, “I’m an open-armed Capricorn,” implying something along the lines of, “I appreciate and welcome you. Feel free to connect with me.

During the extended production of Wicked, Erivo mentioned that she and Ariana Grande nurtured a friendship, which involved expressions of warmth and affection through physical touch.

If we’re not in touch, it feels like I’m asking, “What’s going on? Why aren’t you here? Where have you gone?” I hope that makes sense to you. (Erivo stated this.)

We frequently hold hands as we walk. If we aren’t holding hands, you can usually find us together somewhere else.

Barrymore gushed about that, saying that’s exactly how she wishes life and everyone in it was. 

She shared that she desires life in a certain way, as the intimacy of physical touch is something she values deeply. However, currently, she’s not involved with anyone romantically. At this moment, such experiences are absent from her life, but she admits it would be challenging for her to resist acts like holding hands, hugging, or snuggling if given the opportunity.

Erivo said she thinks that people let fear get in the way.

She clarified, “It seems we tend to feel a bit apprehensive about touching or being close physically.” She added, “We often believe that physical contact is exclusively associated with romance.

She also noted that reaching out and touching someone is also a way of communicating your feelings without speaking.

At times, words aren’t necessary. You might find yourself in a room where all that’s needed is a gentle squeeze of the hand,” she explained.

Sometimes, Ariana Grande and I convey messages in an unusual way. We might both be speaking with someone else, or there could be something I want to tell her, but instead of words, we use gestures like a gentle squeeze of the hand, a quick pinch of the finger, or a warm hug.

Erivo commented, “Regardless of the means, communication is crucial. I believe we undervalue the way we interact with our friends in person.

Barrymore expressed his sentiment, stating, ‘If everyone felt more at ease with physical contact, I’d prefer such a tactile world.’

When Ariana Grande, aged 31, took her spot on the program, Drew Barriemore emotionally touched her by handing over Glinda’s wand from the 1939 movie as a gesture.

Ariana, who plays Glinda in Jon Chu’s film, shared a snap of herself with the wand on Instagram.

She expressed, “I am deeply grateful for our conversation today and for your heart, your kindness, and everything about you.

The gushing note ended, ‘I love you so much. There truly aren’t words.’

The initial installment of ‘Wicked’ premiered in cinemas on November 22, after an energetic media promotional spree that generated numerous trending highlights.
