Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC Rumors Explode Again After Massive 65GB SteamDB Updates

Players eager for news about downloadable content for Dragon’s Dogma 2 have a new reason to be optimistic. Following some anniversary artwork that hinted at future content, recent activity on SteamDB has fueled speculation. SteamDB logs show that two important content areas – labeled 2054971 and 2054972 – were updated on April 15, 2026, at 5:25 AM UTC.

Each download is 65.81GB – nearly the same size as the complete Dragon’s Dogma 2 game. This isn’t a small update; it’s a massive amount of data comparable to installing the entire game again.

If you’re not familiar, a ‘depot’ is simply a collection of game files. When a depot is updated, it means the game developers have uploaded a new version of those files to Steam. What’s unusual here is that both updated depots were labeled as ‘local,’ meaning they were intended for internal use only – likely for testing purposes. This is especially noteworthy because fans recently spotted a large 77GB depot being released and then quickly removed.

On the Dragon’s Dogma subreddit, a user named Gabsteincian excitedly posted, “I really think this means they’re working on the game!” Another user, teruvalin, followed up with a hopeful message, saying, “Please let these recent updates mean something this time.”

A few smaller clues also surfaced. SteamDB records show updates to both the Character Creator & Storage and the Original Soundtrack on March 10, 2026. The last update to these files before that was on June 11, 2025.

We previously reported on a possible hint about downloadable content (DLC) that Capcom may have shared during the second anniversary celebration of Dragon’s Dogma 2. A mysterious figure, seen from behind, appeared with the game’s Vocation Masters. Additionally, an in-game note mentioned confirmed sightings of griffins flying from the northern Organ region.

It’s unclear if Capcom is planning new content for Dragon’s Dogma 2, especially since the original game’s creator, Hideaki Itsuno, has left the company. However, some recent clues and updates suggest they might be building towards a larger expansion. Fans are understandably hoping for a substantial update, similar in scope to the Dark Arisen expansion, to be released soon.
