As a former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and fitness enthusiast, Sara Davies has certainly had her fair share of ups and downs on the dance floor. However, it seems that her passion for dance is as strong as ever, even if hearing one of her routine’s songs on the radio makes her want to stand up and twirl around like she was still in the ballroom.

Sara Davies confesses her feelings of exasperation as she isn’t seeing further weight loss, and she finds herself fixated on the scale following a reduction of three dress sizes.

40-year-old celebrity from Dragons’ Den expressed disappointment when her stylist on BBC One’s show had to adjust her clothes last summer. This incident fueled Sara’s determination to implement significant modifications.

Following her participation in Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, Sara noticed a significant reduction in body measurements while training diligently with professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec, aged 34. However, once her stint on the show concluded, she found it challenging to maintain her weight loss and eventually regained some of the pounds she had shed.

The businesswoman claims that eliminating sugar from her diet and increasing her physical activity helped her lose enough weight to drop three dress sizes, a change that didn’t occur quickly. She remains vigilant about weighing herself regularly.

During a private conversation, she expressed her feelings by saying: “Everyone seems overly focused on the weight displayed on the scale, but for me, my weight hasn’t shifted. In truth, I find myself fixated on it. I frequently step onto the scales and grow frustrated because I’m not shedding pounds as expected.

This year, I haven’t managed to shed additional pounds, but I’ve certainly reaped the rewards from exercising. I’ve been receiving fantastic compliments, and it’s not just about the scale, it’s about how I appear, how I feel, and most importantly, my overall health.

I’ve been taking good care of my diet, prioritizing self-care, and running frequently. I aim to continue this healthy pace.

It appears that Sara’s recent change in appearance has caught the attention of her followers, as viewers of Morning Live expressed their appreciation for the television personality’s weight loss following her appearance in a vibrant orange, form-fitting dress during the show in September.

As a die-hard devotee, I’ve found myself scaling a towering peak, a journey that wasn’t always smooth sailing. Once a rollercoaster rider of weight loss fads, I’ve decided to challenge myself in earnest. The transformation began by bidding adieu to sugar and accepting the challenge of the Great North Run.

She shared: ‘During Strictly, I became remarkably fit and trimmed down significantly. Interestingly, I didn’t shed any pounds on the scale, but I managed to reduce my measurements and drop a few dress sizes.’

Following Strictly, I didn’t add any pounds, but it was evident that I had significantly reduced my muscle mass. After my muscle mass decreased, my dietary habits deteriorated, and I found myself easily gaining weight.

Last summer, during the recording of Dragons’ Den, my wardrobe crisis reached its peak when my stylist had to increase the size of all my clothes. I was truly disappointed. It felt like I had allowed things to spiral out of control.

Last year, I felt the need to set a goal, so I registered for the Great North Run. For about three months, I also decided to eliminate sugar from my diet because I find it quite detrimental – as the saying goes, ‘it’s sugar that gets you.’

In the past, I eliminated all forms of sugar, including alcohol, fruits, and various other items. However, starting from this year, I’ve slowly reintroduced these foods back into my diet. This year, while I haven’t followed a specific diet, I have been making healthier food choices overall.

Sara’s health transformation began during her stint on Strictly, where she regularly danced with partner Aljaž. This year, they both worked together at the BBC studios, as Aljaž vied for the Glitter Ball trophy alongside Love Island alumna Tasha Ghouri.

Despite most of her dances being committed to memory, Sara confesses that her Couple’s Choice routine from Halloween week continues to trouble her.

She mentioned that she might effortlessly perform all her dances, particularly when a song from the radio plays; at such moments, she can close her eyes and visualize her choreography.

Previous summer found me vacationing in Spain alongside Aljaž. I yearned to showcase our Foxtrot dance, yet he claimed to have forgotten the routine. However, I managed to recall it instead.

However, during Halloween week and our Couple’s Choice performance, we found ourselves at the bottom of the rankings. The judges’ criticism was quite harsh, which left me feeling very disappointed.

I’ve never rewatched that dance performance of ours, not once. Not the video from that particular event, the one we danced as a couple during our Couple’s Choice. Even after three years, I find it hard to watch it again.

Regardless of having a blend of emotions towards her stint on Strictly, Sara continues to tune in to the program and supports her ex-partner Aljaž as he competes with Tasha in the contest, hoping he’ll emerge victorious.

She expressed: “It’s no secret that I support my guy, and that means supporting Aljaž. I had the delight of crossing paths with Tasha not too long ago at the studios, and she was truly charming. In fact, she took the time to approach me for a friendly chat.

‘She was really appreciative that I came to support her. She is a lovely, gentle human being.’

Sara also strives, beyond her focus on fitness, to inspire ambitious women entrepreneurs to reach their full business capabilities.

As a devoted advocate for Avon, I firmly believe that one effective strategy to help women take charge and become entrepreneurs is by joining their esteemed team as a representative, a role I myself have embraced.

In preparation for Christmas, Sara assumes the responsibility of mentoring numerous Avon Representatives and Leaders, aiming to help them optimize their income.

She’s counting on the additional earnings to aid them financially as many struggle with their budgets during the holiday period.

As a dedicated coach for over 1,500 Avon representatives, I regularly conduct monthly coaching sessions, and I must say, their passion never ceases to amaze me.

‘I give them homework, sometimes it’s to watch QVC and learn how they sell and other weeks I will tell them about customer profiling and how to target different customer segments. Avon has seen an 80 per cent uplift in the sales the reps have had as a result of the coaching, which makes my heart happy.’

Amidst the struggle with high living costs, Sara believes that taking up the role of an Avon representative, whether female or male, could offer a vital support system for many individuals. Moreover, it might instill newcomers with the self-assurance necessary to cultivate a thriving enterprise.

She commented: “I’ve encouraged others to share the news, as there are very few Avon representatives in the country compared to what we once had. This situation presents a significant opportunity, particularly with the approach of Christmas, and even more so this year than usual.

Instead of relying on credit cards for Christmas expenses during this cost-of-living crisis, where funds are limited, consider starting a small side job or business to help cover the costs. This way, you’ll be able to enjoy the holiday season without worrying about debt later on.

Over the years, numerous anecdotes from our representatives have been shared about instances where Avon has covered more than just the cost of their Christmas turkey. It often includes presents beneath the tree as well, and on occasion, even a special vacation, such as a trip to Lapland or another exciting destination.
