Dragon Age: The Veilguard 'Heroic' Companions and Voice Cast Revealed

As a seasoned gamer and long-time fan of the Dragon Age series, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming game, “Dragon Age: The Veilguard.” With the recent announcement of the voice cast for this highly anticipated single-player RPG, my anticipation has reached an all-time high.

EA and BioWare have announced the voice actors behind the characters in “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” in preparation for a panel at San Diego Comic Con this Friday, which is focused on the game’s heroes. Named “Dragon Age – Getting to Know Thedas’ Bravest Companions,” the panel will include insights from various voice actors involved in the production.

Later in the year, immerse yourself once more in the Dragon Age universe with “The Veilguard,” a standalone RPG experience. In this game, you’ll create and embody your unique character, named ‘Rook,’ who can be voiced by one of four English language actors: Erika Ishii (known for Apex Legends and Destiny 2), Jeff Berg (Battlefield 1 and NCIS), Bryony Corrigan (Baldur’s Gate 3 and Good Omens), or Alex Jordan (Cyberpunk 2077 and The Amazing World of Gumball).

In the meantime, your fellow travelers will be depicted by actors such as Ali Hillis (Mass Effect 3, Naruto) portraying the dwarven scout Harding from Dragon Age: Inquisition; Ike Amadi (Mass Effect 3, Halo 5: Guardians, Insomniac’s Spider-Man) playing the bold and charming Grey Warden and monster hunter Davrin; Jee Young Han (Perry Mason, Unprisoned) bringing Bellara, the romantic Veil Jumper, to life; and Jessica Clark (True Blood, Pocket Listing) embodying the cynical Neve, a private detective and part of Tevinter’s Shadow Dragons rebellion.

In an exciting new turn of events, Jin Maley, known for his roles in Star Trek: Picard and Silicon Valley, takes on the character of Taash in the series. Taash is a dragon hunter and a member of the Lords of Fortune. Meanwhile, Nick Boraine, famous for Modern Warfare and Black Sails, lends his voice to Emmrich, a necromancer in Nevarra’s Mourn Watch. Emmrich is accompanied by Manfred, a skeletal assistant, whose voice is brought to life by Matthew Mercer (Critical Role, Fallout 4). Lastly, Zach Mendez joins the cast as Lucanis, an assassin from the House of Crows lineage, who displays poise and pragmatism. The criminal organization, House of Crows, is known for its feared presence throughout Thedas.

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, each character brings a distinct personality and background. Some of the most captivating individual stories in the franchise’s history are found in this game. According to Creative Performance Director Ashley Barlow, the talent working on the upcoming Dragon Age installment is exceptional. Their job is to bring the top-notch writing from BioWare to life through compelling performances that will meet the high expectations of fans for drama, fantasy, and romance in the Dragon Age series.

At San Diego Comic Con on July 26th from 3:15pm to 4:15pm, you have the opportunity to learn more about the companions in “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” during the “Meet the Heroes of Thedas” panel. Hosted by GameSpot’s Lucy James, this event will feature members of BioWare’s development team and actors Jessica Clark (Neve), Nick Boraine (Emmrich), Zach Mendez (Lucanis), and Ali Hillis (Harding).

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in fall 2024.
