Dragon Age: The Veilguard Flyover Trailers Offer a Look at Some of the Game’s Diverse Locations
As a seasoned Dragon Age fan with over a decade of immersing myself in the rich world of Thedas, the latest revelations about the diverse locations in “Dragon Age: The Veilguard” have me positively giddy! From the ancient magic-infused Arlathan Forest to the treacherous waters of Treviso, each location promises a unique and captivating experience that will undoubtedly fuel my addiction to this beloved series.
BioWare has revealed information about some of the various destinations you’ll explore in ‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard‘ when it releases in October, through a series of videos offering a bird’s-eye view of several forests, wetlands, and settlements scattered throughout Thedas that you’ll uncover.
In addition to showcasing Arlathan Forest, Hossberg Wetlands, Minrathous, Rivain, and Treviso, the new videos also unveil The Lighthouse, a central gathering spot where Rook and their group can relax and socialize. Through The Crossroads at The Lighthouse, you’ll be able to swiftly explore Thedas. Here’s a brief overview of each location, as detailed in the EA Blog.
- Arlathan Forest – Ancient magic and powerful artifacts re-awaken and reality thins across the woodlands that once held the heart of the Elvhen empire. The Veil Jumpers, masters of ancient elven magic, seek to stabilize the region and keep reality from crumbling.
- Hossberg Wetlands – Much of this once-peaceful marshland has been consumed by the Blight. Darkspawn roam the swamps with impunity, but the Grey Wardens mount a valiant defense of the last safe haven – Lavendel.
- Minrathous – Capital of the Tevinter Imperium, the Venatori wield corruption as they try to turn the Empire’s heart to their own dark purposes. Yet the people resist, with the rebel Shadow Dragons leading the charge.
- Rivain – An ancient Grey Warden fortress sits among sparkling waters and lush greenery of the Rivain Coast; the Lords of Fortune call this paradise home. The servants of the gods have their own plans, however, and threaten to turn this sanctuary into a battlefield.
- Treviso – A merchant city known for the beauty of its canals – and the deadliness of its assassins – Treviso is under Antaam occupation, a state of affairs that sits poorly with the Antivan Crows.
You’ll have opportunities to explore and understand more about each region in Thedas by gathering Codex Entries as collectibles. Additionally, you’ll discover items for enhancing your equipment, uncover mysteries and lore, and encounter new ways of rapid transportation to access additional locations. Rook and their companions will also possess various ‘Exploration Skills’ that allow them to engage with the world, even when they return to The Lighthouse.
Below, you’ll find a glimpse of some settings from “Dragon Age: The Veilguard”. This long-anticipated RPG is slated for release on 31st October for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. If you’re curious about how the game’s progression system functions, check out this link to learn more.
