Dr. Chris Brown is among the many Australian and international celebrities expressing their sadness and support following the tragic Bondi Beach attack on Sunday, which resulted in the deaths of 16 people.
The surprising attack happened at the famous tourist spot while hundreds of people were celebrating the first day of Hanukkah.
Naveed Akram, 24, and his father, Sajid Akram, 50, reportedly used powerful military-style weapons to shoot at people – including residents, tourists, and families – from a nearby footbridge.
Following the sad news, Dr. Chris Brown, 47 – famous for his role on the popular TV show Bondi Vet – shared his shock on Instagram.
The celebrity veterinarian shared a photo of the full moon over Bondi Beach and confessed he was deeply upset by how much the once-peaceful community had changed.
Dr. Chris expressed his shock and sadness, calling the event a devastating tragedy for a community known for its happiness and tranquility.

‘This here, this is the Bondi I know.’
He explained the tragedy felt very personal because he previously lived near the bridge where the attackers began their assault.
The Bondi Junction Veterinary Hospital, famously featured in the show Bondi Vet with Dr. Chris, is also just a ten-minute drive from where the tragic event occurred.
Dr. Chris explained that he used to live right near the footbridge, which has become strongly associated with this tragic event.
The ocean has always been a peaceful escape and a source of community spirit, and that connection will help Bondi overcome this challenge, one way or another.
He finished his message by expressing sympathy for those affected and commending Ahmed Al Ahmed, the courageous individual who stopped one of the attackers.
He expressed his support for those impacted and gratitude to everyone who helped, especially praising the bravery of people like Ahmed Al Ahmed. He affirmed that everyone has his support.
People from all over the world shared their sympathy and support after the post was published.

People expressed their shock and sadness, with one sending love from Germany. Another offered support with the Māori phrase ‘Kia Kaha,’ meaning ‘be strong,’ and stated that Christchurch stands in solidarity.
One person shared their condolences, saying they were praying for comfort and healing during this sad time. They also pointed out that while tragedies like this happen frequently in the US, it’s easy to forget they occur in other parts of the world too.
Bondi locals also shared how they, too, were still in disbelief over the shocking attack.
Someone recalled running across the bridge years ago, saying it was so hot they didn’t even wear shoes. They added that even remembering being there makes them feel deeply affected and that the whole situation is unbelievable.
Dr. Chris spoke out after many celebrities, both in Australia and internationally, expressed their sadness and shock over the disturbing attack.
Following the recent tragedy, celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, who just finished a speaking tour in Australia, along with Ashton Kutcher, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Rebel Wilson, shared their reactions on social media.

Oh my gosh, you guys, I just got back from Australia! Seriously, it was incredible. I was literally walking along Bondi Beach just a few days ago, and I swear, there’s just this amazing feeling of freedom and calm that just washes over you there. It’s like… everything just feels easier. I’m already dreaming of going back!
It’s difficult to feel peaceful after such a frightening night. I’m deeply saddened for everyone affected – the people who were hurt, their families, and all Australians.
I still can’t believe it. Sixteen people… gone. And a child was among them. It just feels… unreal. Honestly, it’s like the worst day this country has ever seen, and I keep replaying the news, hoping it’s not true, but it is. It’s just… devastating. I can’t stop thinking about everyone affected by the Bondi Beach tragedy.
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon also confirmed at least 29 people had been injured.
Sajid Akram, one of the attackers, was killed in the shootout. The other attacker, Naveed Akram, was wounded and is currently hospitalized under police supervision.
