Downton Abbey’s Final Film Title Revealed – Prepare for Tears!
A Downton Abbey teaser was released on Thursday which revealed the final film’s official title.
A peek at the highly anticipated sequel’s initial poster likewise offered an elegant sneak peek into Michelle Dockery’s role as Lady Mary Crawley.
In the image, Michelle made an impressive appearance wearing a long red dress featuring a criss-cross design at the back, while strolling through the opulent corridors of Downton Abbey.
The theater release date for ‘#Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ has been set for September 12.
The emotional tag line read: ‘The time has come to say goodbye.’
The last movie in the Downton series, which completes the trilogy, was penned by Julian Fellowes – the mastermind behind Downton Abbey who also won an Oscar.
Director Simon Curtis, who was previously nominated for both BAFTA and Emmy Awards (most recently for Downton Abbey: A New Era in 2022), is back to lead a new project following his previous work.

Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, and Robert will be featured in the production.
Besides James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, and Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy is also part of the cast.
Additionally, the last movie introduces some fresh faces: Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, and Simon Russell Beale.
Last year it was revealed Paul will also be part of the cast.
The Oscar-nominee is to reprise his role from the TV series as Cora’s brother Harold Levinson.
Additionally joining the cast for the third installment of the series is Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, as well as ‘House of the Dragon’ co-stars Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan.
In June, there was a sense of joy among the cast as they gathered once more at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate to shoot scenes together.
Details concerning the plot of the forthcoming film, penned by Julian Fellowes and produced by Gareth Neame, Fellowes, and Liz Trubridge, have yet to be disclosed.
Following the conclusion of A New Era in 2022, as it was known, we can anticipate events to unfold much like they did after the sad demise of Lady Violet, the matriarch of the Crawley family, which occurred in the late 1920s.

Actress Imelda Staunton revealed earlier that the third movie will indeed be made, and she confidently declared it as the “final” installment in the series.
The producers eventually verified it, sharing that a ‘third movie’ will be part of the cherished Downton Abbey series.
In February, it was disclosed by The Mail that the period drama would unexpectedly return for its seventh season.
The upcoming September arrival marks the return of our show, delving into the numerous societal transformations and global happenings from 1912 to 1928.
This immensely popular period series debuted on ITV back in 2011, and since then it’s expanded to include six seasons and two films.
The first two films, released in 2019 and 2022, grossed a combined $287.3 million worldwide.
