Downton Abbey star teases unexpected major role in new movie

Paul Giamatti has teased his “very important” role in Downton Abbey‘s third and final film.

The final installment of “Downton Abbey,” titled “The Grand Finale,” is set to hit movie theaters in September, marking the end of this cherished series following its run of six seasons and three movies.

In the grand tradition of stepping back into the world of Downton Abbey, I, a devoted gamer, can’t help but feel thrilled about the return of Paul Giamatti’s character, Harold Levinson, Cora’s brother, to the silver screen. This two-time Oscar nominee graced our TV screens in one episode during the fourth season, and now he’s back to add more charm and intrigue to this captivating tale.

Initially, I wasn’t expecting much from Harold, but with Giamatti revealing his role will be significant in the finale, I can’t wait to see him shine!

The actor shared with Entertainment Weekly that he found it astonishing he managed to come back at all, considering his rather minor role initially. Yet surprisingly, they decided to give me a significant part in this movie instead.

He went on saying: “I play a crucial role in this film. When I realized that I had a significant impact on the finale of the entire series, I was genuinely surprised.

I take action with substantial impact, whether it’s positive or negative, I won’t disclose. However, my actions play a crucial role in shaping the ultimate outcome of events.

Actress Michelle Dockery, known for her role as Lady Mary, has hinted at an upcoming “stunning movie,” and shared fond memories of a “delightful reunion” she had with actor Giamatti.

It was great to collaborate with Paul once more; he certainly knows how to make work enjoyable,” she remarked. “Given that he’s like one of us, having him return to the production set was delightful, and I can’t wait to watch the completed movie.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share the news that this upcoming film will be a heartfelt goodbye to the legendary Dame Maggie Smith, who breathed life into the character of the Dowager Countess Violet Crawley on screen.
