Dan Stevens, known for his role in Downton Abbey, is joining the second season of the Dexter spin-off, Dexter: Resurrection. He’ll be acting alongside Brian Cox, and both actors will portray serial killers in the show.
So, I’m going to be playing this character, The Five Borough Killer, in the game. Basically, he’s a serial killer who’s a real pain – he calls the police and threatens to kill people, kinda like the Zodiac Killer did. It’s gonna be intense!
After he commits these terrible acts, the city and the police force live in fear.

The character played by Cox is called The New York Ripper. He used to be a killer, but has since stopped. Now, instead of killing, he focuses on tormenting the people who survived his past crimes, finding a way to remain notorious through harassment.
Michael C. Hall will return as Dexter Morgan, and Uma Thurman is back as Charley, the ex-Special Ops security chief for billionaire Leon Prater (played by Peter Dinklage). These actors are joining the cast.

So, at the end of season one, my character Charley left New York with her mom to get a fresh start. But it seems like she’s changed her mind and is heading back, or at least considering it. It’s gonna be interesting to see what happens!
Following the original Dexter series that aired from 2006 to 2013, Resurrection is the third new installment. New Blood brought the show back in 2021, and a prequel called Original Sin premiered in 2024.
Original Sin was cancelled last year, after previously being renewed for a second season.

As a huge Dexter fan, I was so excited to see the show return with Dexter: Resurrection, and it totally delivered! Critics loved it, and it’s got an amazing 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes – almost perfect! It’s really great to see the series getting such a positive response.
According to Screen Rant, Michael C. Hall’s captivating performance as Dexter Morgan is a major strength of the show. They believe bringing his character to a group of killers in New York City is the most inspired decision the series has made.
According to ComicBook.com, the show delivers the Dexter fans have been waiting for since the original series concluded in 2013, and it successfully expands upon the existing storyline. They praised its suspense, dark wit, engaging plot, and Michael C. Hall’s excellent acting.
Collider praised the show, stating it wasn’t simply a continuation of the original, but an improvement. They highlighted the sharper writing, more complex characters, and more impactful moral questions.
You can now watch Dexter: Resurrection on Paramount+. However, there’s no news yet on when season 2 will be released.
Dexter is available to stream on Channel 4 and Paramount+.
