15-year run of the cherished series “Downton Abbey” is wrapping up! The final episode, titled “The Grand Finale,” marks the closure for Julian Fellowes’ esteemed creation.
Prior to its premiere, the cast members of Downton Abbey – Robert James Collier, Laura Carmichael, and Michelle Dockery – shared their insights exclusively with Digital Spy about the show’s finale, hinting that viewers have much to look forward to.
Collier (Thomas Barrow) expressed that it matches the audience’s expectations too, and it seems to him that this is exactly what Julian has accomplished since it’s the final installment. He’s wrapped up all the unresolved issues.

In my initial reading, I was impressed with how well Fellowes managed to conclude all the character arcs, giving a sense of continuity despite it being the finale.
There’s a strong sense of legacy being handed down to future generations. Many characters experience a genuine passing of responsibility, which made me incredibly satisfied with how everything concluded, and it was especially gratifying for Mary.
