Downcast Duncan James forced to go back to Cartier to exchange super expensive gift after Evelyn Ellis said he ‘stuffed up’ her birthday present
As a seasoned follower of reality TV dramas and romantic misadventures, I can empathize with Duncan James‘ unfortunate predicament. Having had my fair share of gift-giving mishaps, I know all too well the sinking feeling that comes with giving an unwanted present. It’s a bit like buying your significant other a pair of socks and finding out they have 50 pairs already tucked away in their drawer.
In a turn of events, Married At First Sight’s Duncan James found himself disappointed when he had to swap the costly present he had bought for his partner, Evelyn Ellis.
37-year-old reality TV personality posted an Instagram video showcasing the heartwarming instant when he gifted his girlfriend a piece of jewelry from Cartier on her special day.
However, his heart broke when she unveiled the box containing the necklace and shared that she owned a matching piece herself.
‘Stuffing up her birthday gift last week,’ he captioned the video.
Subsequently, he posted another video where he could be seen accompanying Evelyn to a high-end jewelry shop for exchanging her present.
In the video, a dejected Duncan can be spotted standing in a lengthy queue, waiting to get into the shop, with an unappreciated present in his hand.

Duncan is then seen paying for the item before leaving the store.
He titled the amusing video, “I’ve come to understand that it’s usually pricier when you return for a second visit.
Duncan and Evelyn have been going strong since announcing they were dating in May last year.
On the reality show Married at First Sight, it was made clear that Evelyn is in a relationship with Duncan, who had been matched with Alyssa Barmonde during the series.
The couple, seen together enjoying a romantic outing in Sydney, admitted that going public felt thrilling and liberating, following several months of speculation about their relationship.
‘We are in a relationship. This is our hard launch,’ Evelyn told Nine.com.au at the time.
She expressed relief and a peculiar sense of excitement as she said it, letting out a chuckle,” the Maxim cover model stated.
