Down and out: AVULUS disband their Dota 2 roster

After dropping out of DreamLeague Season 27, AVULUS has announced it will be disbanding its Dota 2 team.

2025 proved difficult for many Dota 2 teams, but AVULUS faced particularly tough challenges. Constant changes to the player lineup and a lack of success left the team struggling. Despite hoping for a strong finish to the year at DreamLeague Season 27, they had to pull out of the tournament on November 10th. AVULUS announced they would share more details about their future plans soon.

Now, just a few days later, the team is no more, as the players are released.

Disbandulus: AVULUS releases their Dota 2 roster

I was really surprised to see that AVULUS decided to disband their Dota 2 team! It was only a few days after they had to leave a tournament because they couldn’t get enough players, and even though they technically had five players listed, they announced they were letting the whole team go. It’s a shame, but hopefully, those players will find new opportunities soon.

The five ex-AVULUS Dota 2 players are:

  • Aliaksei “Smiling Knight” Svirydau
  • Artem “lorenof” Melnick
  • Jonáš “SaberLight” Volek
  • Marcel “Ekki”  Hołowienko
  • Dmitry “JANTER” Nikulin

The player shuffle after The International is still happening, though no new team lineups have been officially announced yet. We expect to see changes in the coming weeks as teams finalize their rosters for upcoming tournaments.

Honestly, AVULUS hasn’t said anything about getting a new team yet, which is kinda frustrating. I’m really wondering if they’ve got some players waiting in the wings for the 2026 season, or if they’re just going to stay quiet for a while. I’m hoping we hear something soon!
