As a seasoned gamer with decades of arcade beat ’em up experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the announcement of Marian and Yagyu Ranzo for Double Dragon Revive has sent a wave of nostalgia rushing through me! Growing up, I remember spending countless quarters on those Double Dragon machines, and now, here we are, stepping back into that world with these iconic characters.
In a recent announcement, game developers Microids and Arc System Works revealed that they will be introducing two new playable characters for the reboot of the iconic side-scrolling brawler series, Double Dragon Revive. This revitalized version of the popular arcade game made its debut in 1987.
In a natural and easy-to-understand manner: Marian and the enigmatic Yagyu Ranzo will join Billy and Jimmy Lee in their battle against the ‘Shadow Warriors’ gang on the city streets. Marian, who has been seen before in Double Dragon games, makes her comeback with a revamped appearance and impressive Sosetsuken techniques. Meanwhile, Yagyu Ranzo, a ninja with unknown origins, brings his powerful ninjutsu abilities to the fight.
