Double crash survivor Sophie Delezio shares fears for her baby boy as she awaits the birth of first child: 'There's so much you can't control'

As an ardent admirer of Sophie Delezio, I am absolutely captivated by her indomitable spirit and resilience. Her life story is one that defies the odds and serves as a beacon of hope for all who hear it. Despite the unimaginable hardships she’s faced, Sophie remains an embodiment of strength, grace, and optimism.

Sophie Delezio is expecting her first baby, and just like any other expectant mom, she’s had a lot of anxious moments and apprehensions during this pregnancy.

The miracle double car crash survivor says that she’s been extra careful over what she eats as her son grows.

She shares with news.com.au that it’s crucial to ensure whatever you take in and engage with aligns with your inner child, as there are many factors beyond control. However, it can be challenging to understand how these choices impact your inner child consistently.

I find it quite anxiety-inducing, yet thrilling, to welcome him into my space. It will be comforting not to fret over trivial matters such as consuming soft-boiled eggs anymore.

Sophie voiced her remarks during her advocacy for International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day, aiming to disseminate the idea that no quantity of alcohol should be consumed while pregnant.

Regarding bringing up her son in the future, Sophie acknowledges that, despite her challenging past, she recognizes that life simply unfolds as it does.

She stated, “It seems essential to understand that life’s difficult moments, such as hardships, struggles, and negative experiences, are often unpredictable.”

‘It brings me comfort to realize how unusual and unexpected the events were that occurred, and understanding there was no way to prevent such unforeseen accidents… I simply accept that life tends to be this unpredictable.’

It comes after Sophie celebrated her pregnancy with a gender reveal party in July.

She shared a glimpse inside the festivities, leading up to the moment she popped blue confetti that revealed she is having a boy.

In simpler terms, ‘It’s a baby BOY!! We can hardly wait to bring him into the world, our little guy! Your parents are beyond thrilled to meet you,’ is what she posted on Instagram at 23 years old.

Overflowing with excitement, I hosted a delightful gathering adorned with pastel-hued trimmings – balloons floating like clouds and baby blocks scattered about. Friends and kinfolk were there to share the joy!

The pregnant woman stood next to her partner Joseph, revealing her growing belly in a loose, white dress.

Afterward, she switched to a snug blue gown to signify the child’s gender, gently resting her belly on the baby blocks while taking the pose.

Additionally, guests were provided with pastel-colored cupcakes, and photographs of the couple along with their ultrasound images served as decorative elements.

Sophie announced on Instagram, “Excitedly planning a delightful baby shower for our new addition, complete with a secret treat for everyone attending!”

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t express enough gratitude for the abundance of love, joy, and unforgettable moments shared with friends and relatives, both near and far. Our precious baby is already enveloped in a blanket of affection.

In April, Sophie announced her exciting pregnancy news on social media, accompanied by a collection of joyful photos.

In the initial photograph, Sophie and her companion, Joseph, can be spotted grinning broadly as they strike a pose against the backdrop of Sydney’s Manly Beach.

The couple look elated as they both cradle Sophie’s growing baby bump.

‘The greatest gift of all coming in September!’ she wrote alongside a baby face and heart emoji.

In 2003, when Sophie was just two years old, a car plowed into her daycare center’s window, pinning her beneath it and causing severe burns. The people of Australia united to support her during this difficult time.

In the aftermath of the unfortunate incident, over eighty-five percent of her body was severely burned, along with the loss of both feet, some fingers, and her right ear as well.

Three years after the incident, misfortune repeated itself as a five-year-old child was accidentally hit by a vehicle close to her residence on Sydney’s northern coastline, during an outing with her caregiver.

Her powerful thrust propelled her an astonishing 18 meters away from her wheelchair, resulting in a fractured jaw, a broken collarbone, nine fractured ribs, punctured lungs, two fractured vertebrae, and a traumatic brain injury.

During the harrowing incident, Sophie experienced a severe cardiac arrest. The medical team at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick approached her family on two occasions, inquiring whether they wished to discontinue her life-sustaining treatment.

After an impressive healing process, it was just a month afterwards when she discharged from the hospital and resumed her studies at school once more.

In 2023, she became engaged to childhood friend Joseph.
