Dota 2 Patch 7.37: All neutral items that are removed and added
As a seasoned Dota 2 veteran with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and excitement as Valve continues to shake things up with their latest Patch 7.37 update. The cycling out of Fairy Trinket and Martyr’s Plate is bittersweet – it’s like saying goodbye to old friends, but I guess that’s the nature of this game.
In Dota 2’s Patch 7.37, two neutral items are out and two familiar items enter the game.
I was totally caught off guard when Valve dropped the unexpected Patch 7.37 update, brimming with a ton of meta-altering tweaks for our favorite game. One of the most noteworthy modifications is the occasional cycle of neutral items, where some get yanked out and fresh ones are introduced into the fray. Here’s a peek at the updates!
Patch 7.37: Neutral Items removed
In this update, Dota 2 is saying goodbye to a couple of its neutral items. Some have been given boosts or setbacks, but others sadly had to depart from the game altogether. Here’s a list of the neutral items that are no longer part of Patch 7.37.
Fairy Trinket
- +50 Health
- +5% Mana Loss Reduction
- +5% Spell Damage Amplification
Among top-tier items, this impartial artifact was highly favored, particularly by heroes with a focus on spells. Known as the Fairy Talisman, it offers numerous benefits such as an enchanting boost to spell damage.
The Fairy Trinket has been a part of Dota 2 since December 2020, debuting along with numerous other new neutral characters during Patch 7.28. This update also introduced Hoodwink into the game. After spending over three years in Dota 2, it’s now time to say goodbye as Valve rotates the Fairy Trinket out.
Martyr’s Plate
- +5 Health Regen
- +25% Magic Resistance
- Active: Martyrdom – Redirects 25% of all magic damage dealt to your allied heroes within 900 radius towards you for 10 seconds.
The following neutral item, which offers significant magical damage absorption for your team, is set to depart from the list of common items – it’s the Martyr’s Plate, a Tier 4 item. This piece of equipment is particularly beneficial for heroes like Abaddon and Centaur Warrunner, although it was rarely selected due to its niche usage.
In Dota 2, introduced during the significant 7.33 update in April 2023, is one of the latest neutral items. This update also introduced the map expansion and a new hero named Muerta. Until our next game session, let’s take a break with the Martyr’s Plate. It’s time to rest on the bench for now.
Patch 7.37: Neutral Items re-added
As farewells bring greetings, so too does patch 7.37 resurrect two old items that we’ve known well. Here’s a peek at the fresh updates that follow:
Ironwood Tree
- Tier 1
- +5 to all Attributes
- Active: Plant Tree – Plants a happy little tree that lasts for 20 seconds. Cooldown: 15s
As a gamer, I’ve got to say, some in-game items just crack me up, and Ironwood Tree is one of them! This Tier 1 neutral item comes packed with stats that’ll boost your hero, but the real kicker? The Plant Tree ability! With this, you can plant a tree right there on the battlefield. It even flashes the classic GG symbol when planted, which can be quite handy for heroes like Timbersaw and Monkey King.
In Dota 2, the Ironwood Tree is one of the oldest neutral items that debuted alongside the game’s initial roster of such items. It first appeared in Patch 7.23 back in November 2019, and it last disappeared from the game in August 2021. Now, after a long absence of over two years, the Ironwood Tree is back in Dota 2!
Iron Talon
- Tier 2
- +20 Attack Speed
- +4 Armor
- Active: Chop – Targets a non-player enemy unit to remove 80% of its current HP. If cast on a tree, instantly destroys it. Cooldown: 20s. Tree Cooldown: 4s
The comeback of Iron Talon certainly brings excitement to Dota 2 games! As a Tier 2 item, it offers significant attack speed in the early stages and also boosts your hero’s armor. Its active Chop skill speeds up your jungle farming and lets you gather gold more swiftly.
As a seasoned Dota 2 gamer, I’m thrilled to witness another legendary comeback: Iron Talon! Back in the day, this bad boy was a buyable item, and many of us old-school players remember it fondly. It made its debut in Patch 6.86, where it shared the stage with other game staples like Dragon Lance and Aether Lense. Fast forward to October 2017 when Valve decided to take a break from Iron Talon, but lo and behold, it’s back as a neutral item since November 2019! After its long absence, it’s great to have this fan-favorite neutral item back in our games again!
