I wasn’t initially a huge fan of the anime, but this game announcement has definitely piqued my interest. While the exact genre is still a secret, I’m guessing it will be a rhythm game with RPG features, given how central music is to the anime. The trailer shows the band performing and even a character putting up posters, which hints at the gameplay.
Players attending TGS 2025 will get an exclusive sneak peek
Toei Animation announced a brand-new movie alongside the game, and they’re also working on two compilation films. This all suggests Toei is really committed to building a long-term franchise, and it’s definitely making me more interested in the series.
Girls Band Cry: First Riff will be at Tokyo Game Show 2025, where attendees can see a new trailer, play a demo of the PC game, and get exclusive freebies. The game is currently being developed for both Android and iOS, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet. Keep an eye out for future news!
