Don’t miss this near-perfect groundbreaking Irish movie on TV tonight

If you’re seeking an evening TV show that’s truly worth keeping you awake, then check out the captivating Irish-language drama called “The Quiet Girl“.

Premiering in 2022, the Irish-language coming-of-age film by writer-director Colm Bairéad is set to be broadcast on Channel 4 tonight at 12:10 am, which means it’s scheduled for the wee hours of Tuesday, February 18.

Don’t worry if you fall asleep during the show, you can still catch it later on Channel 4’s streaming platform once it has been aired.

In a narrative called “Foster” penned by Claire Keegan, the movie titled “The Quiet Girl” (previously known as An Cailín Ciúin) unfolds during the lush summer of 1981 in the Irish countryside.

As a gaming hero stepping into a new realm, I find myself in the shoes of a timid nine-year-old named Cáit, temporarily living with a caring foster family while my biological mom, who’s just had another child, struggles to take care of us both.

Outside the city, Cáit finds herself in a warm, nurturing home environment for the very first time, far removed from her indifferent upbringing by her parents.

The critically acclaimed film, “The Quiet Girl,” holds a remarkable 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s the top-grossing Irish language film ever and was Ireland’s nominee for an Academy Award. However, it didn’t win; Germany’s submission, “All Quiet on the Western Front,” took that honor instead.

In addition to Clinch, The Quiet Girl features Carrie Crowley and Andrew Bennett in the roles of Cáit’s foster parents, Eibhlín and Seán Kinsella. Also, Michael Patric and Kate Nic Chonaonaigh play the parts of the girl’s biological mother and father.

On the 18th of February, starting at 12:10 am, you can catch ‘The Quiet Girl’ on Channel 4. After it airs, you’ll also have the opportunity to stream the movie on Channel 4’s online platform.
