Don’t miss this first look at Harlan Coben boss’s “messy” new relationship drama

Actress Romola Garai was seen filming in Manchester for the new ITV drama, *Adultery*, written by Danny Brocklehurst.

Brocklehurst’s novel tells a compelling love story about the difficulties that happen when Tom’s teenage daughter develops feelings for a classmate named Ollie.

The story centers around Tom’s teenage daughter, Jess, who falls deeply in love with her classmate, Ollie. Their connection is intense and all-consuming, representing the passionate beginnings of young love.

When Tom unexpectedly runs into Ollie’s mother, Beth, it could dramatically change both of their families’ lives. But can Tom and Beth manage their own growing attraction, especially with their teenage children already falling in love?

Although the official cast list hasn’t been released, Garai was seen filming scenes for the new romantic drama with her co-star, Andrew Knott.

The photos show Garai entering a car advertising “Stronger with Beth Fitness,” suggesting she will likely play the character Beth.

In a different photo, Garai and Knott are standing near each other, and Garai has their hand on Knott’s arm.

ITV says the series *Adultery* will explore themes of social class, dealing with loss, and how social media impacts relationships, all set against the backdrop of a fiery and complicated love story between Tom and Beth.

Brocklehurst previously described the drama as a passionate project he’d long wanted to create. He expressed his excitement about working with ITV and Poison Pen to bring a story to audiences exploring the powerful and often conflicting forces of love and sex, and their ability to bring both great joy and deep sorrow.

Emma Brocklehurst often works with Harlan Coben, and they’ve collaborated on several projects, including the popular series *Safe*, *The Stranger*, *Stay Close*, and the recent Netflix success, *Fool Me Once*.

Filming for the new show *Adultery* has just begun, so it will be some time before viewers can watch it. It will air on ITV1 and STV, and will also be available to stream on ITVX and STV Player.
