Anna Maxwell Martin’s new BBC series has confirmed a July release date, alongside a trailer.

The Liverpool-based drama “Unforgivable” centers around a family grappling with the heartbreaking consequences that follow when one of their own is involved in instances of grooming and sexual abuse.

The broadcaster has officially announced that the series penned by Jimmy McGovern of Time will make its premiere on BBC Two this coming Thursday, 24th July at 9:00 PM. Additionally, viewers can access it starting from 6:00 AM on the same day via BBC iPlayer.

In a new development, the preview for this upcoming drama has been released, highlighting the intense and weighty subjects it intends to delve into. The narrative focuses on Joe (played by Bobby Schofield), who committed an act of abuse, as he encounters his family once more upon his release from prison.

In a different phrasing, Anna Friel’s character Anna questions: “Is it possible for someone I care about to do such a thing?” Meanwhile, the character Martin portrays therapist Katherine.

As a recently freed convict, I find myself stepping into St. Maura’s – a place promising me a new beginning with a home and rehabilitation.

Under the guidance of Katherine, a former nun, Joe embarks on therapeutic sessions with the aim of uncovering the reasons behind his abusive actions and accepting the repercussions.

Meanwhile, Anna, his sibling, grapples with how Joe’s actions have affected her sons Tom (Austin Haynes) and Peter (Fin McParland), as well as their shared father, Brian (David Threlfall).

As a gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating “Unforgivable,” a game that delves deep into the far-reaching consequences of abuse from various viewpoints. It promises to show us how those caught up in the chaos can strive for healing and progress amidst the wreckage.

Alongside Mark Womack from The Responder, Paddy Rowan of Time magazine, Phina Oruche known for Magpie Murders, and Fin McParland are part of the cast.
