The first trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller, *Send Help*, is now available. The film stars Rachel McAdams, known from *Game Night*, and Dylan O’Brien, of *Twinless*, as coworkers who find themselves stranded on a deserted island.
The first trailer for the film, directed by the acclaimed Sam Raimi – known for *Spider-Man* and *Evil Dead* – opens with Linda, played by McAdams, facing a threat from her demanding boss, Bradley (O’Brien), who is threatening to fire her.
When the plane carrying Linda and Bradley crashes on a business trip, they’re the only ones left alive. Soon, the power dynamic shifts, and their injured boss is unexpectedly relying on Linda for help.

“We’re not at the office anymore, Bradley,” she says. The scene then cuts to frightening images – Linda covered in blood and Bradley looking absolutely terrified.
She understood my frustration with a difficult boss, saying she’d been there too. Then, with a slightly unsettling grin, she admitted she might not have been any better… and emphasized the point by brandishing a knife.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Sam Raimi described the initial idea for the movie as both “outrageous and original.” He hinted that the film follows the two main characters as they clash, with their relationship and the balance of power between them shifting significantly throughout the story.
“I knew right away that I wanted to direct this picture,” he added.
The director explained that *Send Help* is fundamentally a story about an underdog, and also a tale of a woman finding her strength and changing for the better.
He explained that seeing a former leader become reliant on someone they dismissed is a rewarding experience. He also believes their story resonates with everyone because of its relatable themes.
It’s important to build a society where everyone is treated with respect and kindness, no matter their background. It’s particularly inspiring to watch Linda thrive and discover her strength in such a surprising situation.
In addition to the two lead actors, the film also stars Dennis Haysbert, known from *24*, Chris Pang from *Palm Springs*, and Thaneth Warakulnukroh of *Bad Genius* in smaller roles.
Send Help is due out in UK cinemas on 6 February, 2026.
