Don’t miss the BBC’s explosive Kit Harington drama which is about to leave Netflix
The popular BBC historical series, titled “Gunpowder” featuring Kit Harington and Liv Tyler, will be leaving Netflix in the near future.
A three-act play narrates the events of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, where Robert Catesby (played by Harington) masterminded a group of conspirators to attempt the murder of King James I of England (portrayed by Derek Riddell).
First aired back in 2017, the historical drama has been accessible on Netflix for some time, but its availability is set to end soon as it’s now listed under the “Leaving Soon” section. If fans want to catch the series on Netflix before it disappears, they should act promptly.
Beyond the already mentioned celebrities, I’m thrilled to share that the series “Gunpowder” boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Mark Gatiss, Peter Mullan, Philip Hill-Pearson, and none other than Tom Cullen portraying the notorious Guy Fawkes.
According to Harington, who gained fame from “Game of Thrones,” the show explores an intriguing, eerie, and convoluted aspect of British history that’s on the brink of being lost in the haze of time. This statement was made through BBC.
While most people might be familiar with the name Guy Fawkes, there are likely many who aren’t aware of the full story behind him. This tale extends far beyond just Guy Fawkes and delves into the captivating lives of various characters, all marked by desperation and tragic events.
The series ‘Gunpowder’ revolves around the concept of choices, particularly those made by desperate individuals in dire situations, which makes for gripping drama. Not much is publicly known about the events leading up to and following November 5, but in ‘Gunpowder’, we delve into the entire storyline.
In modern television dramas, you often encounter nameless villains without much backstory. However, our aim is to present the narrative not only from the antagonists’ point of view but also to delve into what drives individuals to commit heinous acts of violence. Essentially, we wanted to portray a tale that showcases both perspectives.
Gunpowder streams on Netflix.
