Don’t break my card! Billy Ray Cyrus accuses Firerose of $96K in credit card fraud amid split

I have always admired Billy Ray Cyrus for his resilience and determination, both in his personal and professional life. His journey in the music industry, from “Achy Breaky Heart” to his collaboration with his daughter Miley Cyrus on “Old Town Road,” is a testament to his enduring talent and adaptability.

Billy Ray Cyrus wants to cut ties with Firerose in more ways than one.

As a cinephile, I’d put it this way: I, the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, have asked the court for a restraining order against my Australian spouse on an urgent basis. I allege that she made over $96,000 worth of purchases using my personal and business credit cards without my consent. I filed this emergency motion at Williamson County Court in Tennessee last week, as reported by The Times upon reviewing the legal documents.

Cyrus is requesting the court to prevent Firerose (Johanna Rosie Hodges) and her team from accessing his credit cards and financial accounts without permission. Additionally, he is asking his recently divorced wife to repay him for any unauthorized funds she has used with his business card.

Cyrus’s lawyer failed to provide a response upon our request for comment from The Times right away. Similarly, Firerose’s attorney remained silent on the matter.

Cyrus, aged 62, and Firerose, 34, got married in October following a one-year long engagement. However, they went their separate ways just last month. Cyrus filed for annulment on May 23, claiming deceit as the reason in the court documents. The following day, both parties reached an agreement. Firerose was to leave Cyrus’ residence, and he pledged to give her a financial assistance for three months until their marriage legally ended.

Last week, it was reported that Firerose is accused of making over $96,000 worth of unauthorized charges on Cyrus’ American Express card between May 23 and June 7. The accusations include expenses such as over $70,000 for legal fees, over $6,000 for flights to and from Nashville and Los Angeles, and nearly $10,300 to the U.S. Treasury, among other expenditures.

According to the proposed motion, Firerose reportedly reserved and subsequently canceled Delta flight reservations in order to accumulate “future flight vouchers.” It is added that her present legal representatives have returned a substantial amount of Cyrus’ payment to them.

Besides recovering the compensation owed to Cyrus by Firerose, he requests the court to grant him a fair amount for legal representation fees and court expenses.

Billy Ray Cyrus encountered Firerose at Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” production site during the show’s run from 2006 to 2011. At that point, he was still married to Tish Cyrus, but they later announced their separation in April 2022.

Over the past few years, my admiration for these two remarkable musicians has only grown deeper. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness their unique connection evolve, transforming them into creative collaborators during the unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic. And then, in the chilly month of November 2022, one asked the other a question that filled me with excitement and joy – “Will you be my songwriting partner for life?”

Two years ago, he shared with People how our musical connection grew organically. As musical partners, we became more than that – we became soulmates, filled with joyous, genuine love I hadn’t known was possible. We are musicians at heart, and we discovered this harmony, rhythm, and melody in life together.

Now it seems all that harmony, rhythm and melody has come to an end — and a pricey end at that.
