Donk, Spirit strike down plucky Eternal Fire to win inaugural BLAST Bounty

The Turkish CS2 team Eternal Fire played valiantly in their match, but despite their best efforts, they were unable to defeat the powerful Team Spirit. Winning today’s BLAST Bounty Spring event 3-1 (14-16, 13–6, 13-3, 13-8), Team Spirit has continued its impressive run from the Shanghai Major, marking a strong start to the 2025 season for them and their star player Danil “donk” Kryshkovets.

In the recent BLAST Bounty Spring tournament, underdogs Eternal Fire from Turkish CS2 put up a valiant effort but ultimately fell short against powerhouse Team Spirit. The latter, who had previously triumphed at the Shanghai Major, added another victory to their tally today with a 3-1 win (14-16, 13-6, 13-3, 13-8).

2025 season has seen Spirit and Danil “donk” Kryshkovets make a strong start, with donk earning the MVP title at the recent event in Copenhagen due to his impressive performance. Meanwhile, Eternal Fire is showing promising signs after their roster changes during the off-season.

No roster changes, no problem: Spirit bounce back to wipe out EF

2025’s Valve Regional Standings (VRS) season got underway with BLAST’s inaugural Bounty event, and it started off explosively! Top-ranked team Spirit, who opted out of roster changes over the holidays, emerged victorious, earning a staggering $288,125 USD.

Against all odds, Eternal Fire found themselves in a fierce competition with their opponents. Along the journey to the finals, the Turkish team managed to knock out some heavyweight teams like Vitality and G2 during the playoffs. In an unexpected turn of events, they almost pulled off an upset against Spirit on Anubis, coming back from a 12-4 deficit to push the match into overtime.

İsmailçan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş sparked into action in that match, propelling Eternal Fire to an unprecedented comeback on the opening map. However, starting from the second map, Spirit stepped up their game, leaving Eternal Fire struggling to maintain pace.

In a decisive turn of events, Spirit built substantial leads against Nuke and Dust 2, maintaining their advantage until they evened the score, surpassed EF, and eventually secured a convincing 13-8 victory on Mirage, claiming the trophy for their team. Regrettably, spectators missed out on witnessing Train in the final as Spirit continued to assert their dominance, keeping their foot firmly pressed down.

In the final match, Dmitriy “sh1ro” Sokolov played a significant role alongside donk, and it was particularly noteworthy that the team managed to recover after suffering an unexpected defeat by Anubis. Unfortunately, their coach, Sergey “hally” Shavayev, couldn’t make it to the playoffs in Denmark, but the team still performed well without his presence.

The top team is now making their way towards IEM Katowice, marking their first major victory of 2024. They aim to protect their title, having secured a direct invite for the second stage, while Eternal Fire kick off their Katowice journey in the play-ins this week.
