Don Buchwald dead at age 88: Howard Stern’s longtime agent passes away from natural causes
As a devoted fan and follower of Howard Stern’s illustrious career, I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Don Buchwald, the legendary agent who played an instrumental role in shaping Stern’s professional journey. The news of his demise at the venerable age of 88 has left me feeling a profound sense of loss.
Howard Stern’s longtime agent Don Buchwald passed away on Monday at age 88.
According to reports, Buchwald – affectionately known as ‘Superagent’ by a popular radio host – passed away peacefully at his residence in Massachusetts’ Berkshires region, as confirmed by his self-titled agency on the third day of this week.
As an obsessed fan, I’d put it like this: I’m utterly captivated by the story of this Brooklyn-born trailblazer. Back in 1977, with just a small team of five dedicated agents, he founded Don Buchwald & Associates. And then, in a bold move that expanded his reach even further, he set up shop in Los Angeles in 1992. Today, this incredible firm, now named Buchwald, boasts an impressive workforce of 130 talented individuals. Each and every one of them is an expert in their respective fields within the dynamic worlds of entertainment and media.
Julia Buchwald, president of Buchwald’s West Coast divisions, spoke out through a statement released by Deadline. She pledged to her father, the founder of the esteemed agency 47 years prior, that not only would it thrive but also adapt as they moved forward together.
‘I, along with my devoted teammates, intend to keep this promise and make Don proud.’

In 2015, Buchwald acted as a triple role for Stern – agent, manager, and publicist – and secured a remarkable agreement with Sirius XM satellite radio valued at approximately $90 million annually on his celebrated client’s behalf.
