Dolph Lundgren’s Shocking Cancer Battle Revealed
On a rare family occasion over the weekend, Dolph Lundgren was noticeably upbeat as he dined out in West Hollywood alongside his spouse Emma Krokdal and their daughters, Ida and Greta. The gathering was laid-back and enjoyable.
The actor made famous by the Rocky films, aged 67, appeared cheerful and in good health as he spent a sunny day with his family, having triumphantly overcome cancer after a tough nine-year struggle announced earlier in November.
In a relaxed outfit consisting of a T-shirt, cardigan, and denim pants, Lundgren maintained a casual air as he stood outside the restaurant alongside his fashionable companions.
In the stylish attire of a brown animal-print sweater, matching handbag, and casual light-washed denims, Emma, who was 28 years old and had married him in a romantic July 2023 wedding on Mykonos, caught everyone’s attention.
Ida, who is 28, and Greta, aged 22, went for stylishly casual outfits. They wore comfy sweaters with traditional denim while they stood outside the restaurant, waiting for their ride.
In my personal journey, I’ve been fortunate enough to share two beautiful daughters with my former wife, Anette Qviberg, whom I was married to from 1994 until our separation in 2011. We continue to navigate our lives as co-parents, focusing on the happiness and wellbeing of our girls.

Back in June 2020, the celebrity made public his betrothal to Emma, and they exchanged wedding vows at their villa located in Mykonos, Greece.
Previously, they shared with the public that they decided to express their love through marriage, held at their villa in Mykonos, surrounded by family and a select group of friends. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and a strenuous journey of medical treatments, they had to repeatedly postpone their wedding plans multiple times.
It seemed like an ideal moment to commemorate love, life, and joy – within the realm of the divine.
Later on, Dolph praised Emma highly, describing her as an exceptional companion in both his private and work-related ventures.
The actor disclosed that they have been collaborating on several ventures lately, and Dolph believes they work exceptionally well as a team.
He told Fox News: ‘Emma is a great support. She’s very clever.
I’m currently involved in creating a humorous piece. The same individual who assisted me on ‘Wanted Man’ is also lending a hand here. She assists me not only in drafting the script but also during production, post-production – essentially providing a second perspective.
In February 2024, they officially obtained American citizenship, as Dolph had shared with People magazine: “I’ve spent more than four decades moving in and out of this nation.

I hold a deep affection for America, as it has provided me with countless opportunities. Now, I feel immense pride to have officially become an American citizen, making this country my permanent home at last. It’s high time!
In the images posted on People, they could be seen participating in a ceremony, with their right hands raised, taking an oath of loyalty to the United States.
In November, Lundgren shared the good news that he’s now cancer-free following a nine-year struggle. At one point, physicians informed him he only had a few years left to live.
From his hospital bed, the Swedish actor shared he was experiencing a lung ablation – a less intrusive treatment method where heated or cooled energy is directed towards and destroys cancerous cells, eliminating the requirement for surgery.
He mentioned, ‘I’m currently at UCLA, preparing to enter for a procedure to remove the final tumor.’ Translating that into a more straightforward statement, he expressed, ‘Since the last of my cancer cells will be eradicated with this surgery, I anticipate being cancer-free and eagerly await the operation.’
He went on to say, “The journey has been challenging, but it’s shown me the importance of living fully present and cherishing each moment of life.” In essence, he believes that this is the best approach to live.
In the title of his post, Lundgren expressed, “At last, free from cancer, filled with gratitude and enthusiasm for a promising future. Always appreciative for your support.

Back in May 2023, Dolph disclosed that he’s fought cancer for a span of eight years, and he pondered if his previous steroid usage for bodybuilding might be the culprit.
In a candid interview with Graham Bensinger, the actor disclosed his struggle with kidney cancer, which he was initially diagnosed with back in 2015.
According to Lundgren, his cancer went into remission at some point, but unfortunately, it came back in the year 2020. One medical professional informed him that he has approximately 2-3 years left to live.
After seeking another doctor’s advice, the star’s new course of treatment has led to a decrease in the size of his tumors.
