Dolly Parton shared this week that she has a close connection with her younger sister, Rachel Parton George, and that the two look remarkably alike.
The country music star, celebrating her 80th birthday next month, and her sister, who closely resembles her at age 66, looked nearly identical in a photo posted on Instagram by the singer on December 17th.
Dolly Parton shared that the holidays are a special time for gathering in the kitchen, enjoying meals, and creating cherished memories with loved ones – a tradition she’s always shared with her sister, Rachel. She reflected on this while also acknowledging the recent loss of her husband, Carl Dean.
Dolly Parton recently chatted with Khloé Kardashian on her podcast, The Kardashians, and also took the opportunity to promote her and Khloé’s cookbook, saying, ‘Plan your holiday meals with our cookbook #GoodLookinCookin!”
George, who is an actress and singer like her older sister and now writes cookbooks, and Parton both looked stunning in glamorous outfits that showed off their figures, complete with high heels.
The sisters wore perfect makeup, big blond hair and even bigger smiles.

Parton and George smiled for a photo with one of their holiday dishes, surrounded by the warm and cheerful decorations of a Christmas-decorated living room.
The slideshow continued with detailed views of the cracker and dip, followed by beautifully sliced holiday roast beef.
People loved the photos, with comments like ‘Family always comes first, you both look gorgeous!’ and ‘What beautiful women!’
Dolly Parton’s cookbook, Good Lookin’ Cookin’, came out in September 2024, and she shared the news with her Instagram followers.
I’m passionate about cooking, but my sister Rachel means even more to me. Combining those two loves into this project was an incredible experience, and we truly hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as we enjoyed creating them.
George is a resident of Franklin, Tennessee, near Parton, and prefers to live a private life. She currently holds an executive position within her sister’s companies.
Dolly Parton had to reschedule six shows from her Las Vegas residency in December because of health issues and necessary medical treatments, as she shared on Instagram three months ago.
She reassured her fans that she was only stepping back temporarily.

She announced that she has to postpone her Las Vegas concerts, stating, ‘I want my fans and the public to hear directly from me about this.’
As some of you are aware, I’ve been facing some health issues, and my doctors have advised me to undergo a few medical procedures.
She still has her classic sense of humor. She quipped, “I told them it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, even though I wasn’t actually going to see my plastic surgeon!”
To be honest, I won’t be able to properly rehearse and prepare the show I want to deliver – the one you deserve. You’re paying to see a great performance, and I want to make sure I’m at my best when I’m on stage for you.
Dolly Parton recently told People magazine that she doesn’t focus on aging, even as she approaches her 80th birthday in January.
“People keep pointing out I’ll be eighty,” she said. “But what does that matter? I’ve already accomplished so much, and I feel like I’m only just beginning.”
I realize that might sound silly, but as long as my health holds up – and currently it seems to be – I believe age is a significant factor to consider.
If you focus on aging, you’ll feel old. But I refuse to! I don’t have time to worry about getting older – it’s not something I even consider.

Dolly Parton has been thinking about the personal costs she’s paid over the years to achieve success in her career.
In her new book, Star Of The Show: My Life On Stage, released November 11th, she recently told People magazine that she feels like she’s been rushing through life at a fast pace.
Putting this book together made me reflect on my past and realize how much I’d given up along the way. I started wondering how I ever managed to juggle everything before.
Since I didn’t have children, I avoided any potential regret about not being a parent. I’m grateful I was able to achieve my personal goals.
