Dolly Parton, ‘doing better,’ reappears to open Dollywood where her late husband had one rule
On its centennial anniversary on Wednesday evening, Reba McEntire expressed a sentiment that likely crossed many minds: The celebration felt incomplete without Dolly Parton adding her flair to it.
McEntire expressed, “Tonight has been wonderful, but honestly, it just doesn’t feel right without you.” Addressing the country star, she had seen a video message from her prior to the show on “Today”. She continued, “Dolly, everyone here at the Opry and globally are thinking of you. You need to understand that we will always cherish you.

In a touching tribute, country music legend Dolly Parton pens a heartfelt ballad for her husband Carl Dean, expressing peace following his passing, as she believes he’s now safely in the care of God.
Previously, the grief-stricken Dolly Parton made a personal appearance in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee last week, surprising fans at the exclusive, season passholder’s opening of Dollywood. It was her late husband, Carl Dean, who had one rule here.
He personally purchased a ticket,” Parton said to Knox News (Knoxville News Sentinel), as the theme park began its 40th anniversary celebration. “Waited in line and obtained his own ticket. He didn’t want someone giving him a ticket just because he is Dolly’s husband.
“Everybody thinks that’s the funniest thing.”
In his lone trips to the amusement park, he’d bypass the roller coasters, pick up a bite, and simply stroll about, taking in all sights, she remarked.

Travel & Experiences
In the iconic attic sequence, the bride appears tormented as usual, yet her demeanor and appearance are noticeably different from what we’ve seen before.
The longtime country musician, who recently lost her spouse following almost six decades of marriage, shared with fans at the Dollywood debut last Friday that she had shed enough tears since his passing.
“I need to laugh. I need some fun, so I’m probably gonna be stupid,” she said.
As a movie enthusiast, I shared with Knox News that I found solace in knowing Dean had found peace, but that didn’t diminish my longing for him or lessen the love I held for him. Towards the end of his life, he endured immense suffering, which I revealed to Knox News.
After his passing, she admitted that she was doing better than she initially anticipated. Having spent 60 years together, she acknowledged that there would be a learning curve as she reacquainted herself with certain aspects of their shared life. However, she vowed to hold him close in her heart always.

In 1964, when Parton was 18 and Dean was 21, they crossed paths outside a laundromat. They tied the knot on Memorial Day in 1966, but for nearly all of their marriage, Dean mostly stayed out of the limelight.
On the 3rd of March, Dean passed away in Nashville at the age of 82. He leaves behind Dolly Parton and his other siblings, Sandra and Donnie.
