Dolly Parton, 79, forced to postpone 2025 Vegas shows as doctors order medical procedures amid health battle

Dolly Parton is delaying her upcoming Las Vegas shows to focus on her health.

The 79-year-old country music icon announced to her fans on Instagram that she’s dealing with some health issues and will need medical treatment.

I’m letting my fans know directly that I have to postpone my concerts in Las Vegas. I’ve been having some health issues, and my doctors have advised me to get a few procedures done.

She made a playful joke about needing a ‘100,000-mile check-up,’ but quickly clarified she wasn’t referring to cosmetic surgery.

Despite the setback, Parton reassured fans that she is not retiring.

She reassured everyone she wasn’t leaving, explaining, ‘God hasn’t given me any sign to stop.’ However, she felt a nudge to take things slower, preparing herself for future opportunities with them. She expressed her love and appreciation for their understanding.

The Las Vegas shows have been moved to September 2026 and will take place from September 17th to 26th.

If you already have tickets for the original 2025 show dates, they will automatically work for the new dates. If you can’t make the rescheduled dates, you can get a refund.

Olivia Munn responded to the post with several red heart emojis, and singer Brandi Carlile called Dolly Parton ‘flawless.’

Jennifer Nettles, the country singer, shared a heartfelt message: ‘Get ready for some amazing experiences! I’m so excited to share them with you. Until then, please take care of yourself and get well soon!’

Actress Julianne Hough shared three heart emojis.

I’ve been seeing so much love online for Dolly, and it’s just beautiful! People are really rallying around her, with comments like ‘We need to protect her!’ and ‘Get well soon, Dolly!’ It’s heartwarming to see such an outpouring of support, honestly.

Honestly, I think I speak for *everyone* when I say we’re completely obsessed! But we’re also really worried – we love them SO much and just want them to take care of themselves! We’re begging them to slow down a little and recharge, please! It’s just…we need them, but we need them *healthy*.

Just under two weeks ago, Dolly Parton worried fans when she had to cancel a planned visit to Dollywood, where she was going to reveal a new ride or feature at the park.

Dolly Parton, 79, couldn’t be at the event in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, but shared a video message explaining she’s recovering from kidney stones.

Dolly Parton greeted fans in a video, playfully acknowledging the distance between them. ‘Hello Dollywood!’ she said, adding, ‘I know you’re probably wondering why I’m not there with you,’ according to a clip shared on X by news anchor Marcus Leshock.

The singer shared with her fans that she’d been dealing with a kidney stone, explaining it as a minor health issue.

It seems I had an infection,” she explained. “The doctor told me I shouldn’t travel right now and that I needed a few days to recover, so I’m postponing my trip to Dollywood.

The Grammy-winning artist, who has won 10 awards, shared with fans that she was sending her best wishes from home and was really excited about attending the theme park before she had to miss it.

Oh my gosh, she sent a message! She’s SO sweet, even apologizing for not being able to be there! And she said it’s nothing serious, which is such a relief! She promised she’ll be back as soon as she can, and told us not to worry about her – honestly, my heart melted. She just needs to rest, and can’t do it today, and that’s totally okay! I just can’t wait until she’s back, I miss her so much!

Even though she wasn’t at Dollywood on Wednesday, Dolly Parton appeared healthy in a recent video and assured fans she plans to be back soon.

In 2015, she shared that she’d had three kidney stones removed and was recovering well. She posted a message on her website thanking everyone for their concern.

Earlier this year, her husband, Carl Dean, died at age 82.

You know, it still really gets to me when people ask about my husband, Carl. We shared sixty incredible years together, and honestly, I’ve been head-over-heels for him since I was just a young woman of eighteen. It’s a love that shaped my life, and I miss him dearly.

Dolly Parton said she’s incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support she’s received since her husband passed away.

I’m incredibly grateful for all the support I’ve received – so many lovely cards, letters, and flowers have arrived from everywhere! It’s funny, I never realized my husband, Carl Dean, was so well-known,” she said with a laugh.

A few weeks after losing Dean, Dolly Parton shared with Knox News that she was coping better than expected. Having been with him for 60 years, she acknowledged she’d need to adjust to life without him and learn new routines, but promised to always keep his memory close to her heart.

She also talked about the final days of her private husband, explaining that he faced difficulties before he passed away.

‘He went through so much,’ Dolly said. ‘I’m relieved he’s finally at rest, but that doesn’t stop me from missing him and loving him deeply.’

She admitted she felt a deep sadness, like a hole in her heart, but expressed hope that she would fill that emptiness with positive memories and keep his spirit alive within her.
