As a seasoned concert-goer with a heart full of memories and pockets lightened by too many ticket purchases, I must say, the latest Coldplay drama has me feeling a familiar mix of excitement and frustration. The anticipation of a new tour is always palpable, but when it comes to securing those precious tickets, the experience can be as unpredictable as the weather in Manchester during a Liam Gallagher gig.

On a Saturday in Central Park, New York City, Doja Cat and Chris Martin couldn’t wait to perform, as they got ready for their upcoming acts at the Global Citizen Festival.

28-year-old American rapper was absolutely stunning, adorned in a shimmering gold and silver dress embellished with diamonds and fringes.

This fashionable outfit featured a V-shaped neckline, intricate fringes of silver and gold, and see-through sections at the chest and flanks.

In a striking fashion, the artist known for “Paint The Town Red” drew focus during her performance, enhancing her presence with tall nude shoes.

With her tattoos prominently visible, the singer felt completely at ease as she prepared to give an unforgettable show, just before the festival.

During rehearsals, Chris Martin, who is 47 years old and the lead singer of Coldplay, adopted a more relaxed appearance, wearing a casual off-white t-shirt and dark grey pants.

He completed his look with a pair of casual chunky trainers and sported a black baseball cap which boasted the word ‘Kiiid’ at the centre.

The singer seemed in high spirits as he relaxed on a step and strummed on his guitar.

Every year, the Global Citizen Festival presents a musical event. Attendees have the opportunity to make strides against severe poverty by taking action, thereby earning themselves free admission.

This festival unites individuals from around the world, including artists, advocates, politicians, generous donors, and business heads, all sharing a common goal: to eradicate extreme poverty immediately.

This coming Saturday, the Global Citizen Festival will be back on the famous Great Lawn of Central Park, aiming to spur immediate efforts to eradicate severe poverty worldwide.

This year’s festival will feature artists such as Post Malone, Doja Cat, LISA (from Blackpink), Jelly Roll, Rauw Alejandro, Benson Boone, and RAYE as the main performers.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t contain my excitement about the event I’ll be part of! The star-studded lineup includes none other than Hugh Jackman, who will grace us with his presence as the host. But that’s not all! Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the renowned Jane Goodall Institute and a UN Messenger of Peace, will also be there, gracing us with her wisdom and insights. To top it off, Chris Martin from Coldplay, the curator of Global Citizen Festival, is joining in too! This event promises to be nothing short of extraordinary!

At the Festival, Chris made an appearance following another round of criticism towards Ticketmaster, with Coldplay enthusiasts being the latest victims in their dealings with the ticketing platform this time.

Enthusiasts of the renowned British band are eagerly anticipating securing passes for the six concerts scheduled in the UK during their unprecedented Music Of The Spheres World Tour, set to occur the following summer.

Even though the general ticket sales started at 9 am on Friday, fans found themselves in a rush due to a late development: Ticketmaster informed everyone that they would have to verify their accounts, but unfortunately, no verification codes were sent out.

People who successfully accessed the site were taken aback when they received a notification stating ‘scarcity of supply’ shortly after the sale began on Thursday, prompting some fans to allege that the website had over-sold tickets during the presale.

While some were displeased, not all felt that way towards scalpers who snatched up tickets rapidly and subsequently listed them for sale at over £1000 per ticket.

As a devoted fan, I’ve found myself in the thick of it all with the recent backlash against Ticketmaster. The heated discussion stems from their dynamic pricing system, which has been criticized for inflating the price of Oasis tour tickets to an astonishing £355.

Before the release of tickets, upset fans, who were previously using X (formerly known as Twitter), voiced their frustration because they hadn’t received any access codes, which hindered them from making any purchases.

As a dedicated fan, I found myself eagerly anticipating the 8:30 login for those coveted Coldplay tickets. To my dismay, instead of gaining access, I was prompted to change my password first, followed by an account authentication process. Now, after all that, I’m still waiting for a code that seems to be taking its sweet time arriving, making it impossible for me to enter the waiting room! #coldplay #ticketmaster

‘I’m being asked to input a verification code for my account, but I haven’t received the code #Coldplay’; or more casually, ‘I can’t seem to get into the waiting room without verifying my identity…but there’s no code coming through.’

“Ticketmaster requiring a verification code for my account, but not providing it? That doesn’t seem logical! #Coldplay

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can tell you that when the much-anticipated ticket sale went live, those of us quick enough to get in line received an unexpected surprise – a notification stating that only a limited number of tickets were available.

The user expressed: ‘I’m number 35,000 in line. Did I waste my time as the tickets were sold out by then??’ using the hashtags ‘#coldplay’ and ‘#coldplaytickets’.

As a die-hard Coldplay fan, I can’t help but share my excitement (and a tad of frustration)! It seems like the pre-sale limited tickets for #Coldplay have already flown off the shelves! Can’t wait to find out why all ticket types are so remarkably scarce, barely two minutes into general sale. #coldplay #ticketmaster

‘Joined the queue for Coldplay at less then 8000 and within 5 minutes it comes up with “tickets are extremely limited” whyyyy would you basically sell out your presale so no one can get them on general sale’; ‘ticketmaster is actually diabolical, tickets go on sale at 9am and are practically sold out by 9:02am? #coldplay #Ticketmaster’;

Though I’m not religious, I strongly feel that there’s a particular spot reserved for those who snap up concert tickets only to resell them at sky-high prices mere minutes later. Using the example of Coldplay’s 2025 tour, it could be said as #Coldplay #Coldplay2025 #ResellingTicketsInferno.

A representative from Ticketmaster informed TopMob that they had expected a large number of music enthusiasts to visit their site for the unprecedented Coldplay tour, hence resulting in a waiting line. This queue is progressing smoothly as tickets are being purchased by fans.

It’s often recommended to register and confirm your account ahead of time for fans. Additional guidance can be found at this link: [Coldplay UK Tour 2025: How to Get Tickets](https://discover.ticketmaster.co.uk/music/coldplay-uk-tour-2025-how-to-get-tickets-62729/)

presently, Ticketmaster is under scrutiny by the antitrust authority regarding controversies surrounding ticket sales for the Oasis concert.

According to the Competition and Markets Authority, fans might not have received sufficient clarity regarding ticket prices during their attempts to purchase tickets for the Oasis Live ’25 tour last week.

Inspectors will examine if ticket buyers for concerts felt compelled to purchase tickets quickly and at prices higher than expected.

Over the past 15 years, Oasis had been building an incredible bond with their fans, but in just a few days after announcing the reunion tour, I found myself utterly dismayed by the way they handled pricing. The ‘dynamic pricing’ strategy they employed left me and many other would-be concert-goers stunned as standing ticket prices nearly doubled, leaving us feeling like we were getting hit in the wallet.

Additionally, scalpers seemed to acquire a large quantity of tickets and then list them on resale platforms at significantly higher prices.

An investigation being launched does not mean Ticketmaster has definitively broken consumer law.
