The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame revealed who will be inducted in 2025. The lineup features current popular artists like Doja Cat and Olivia Rodrigo, alongside legendary figures such as Elton John and Iggy Pop.
David Letterman, the well-known TV host, left late-night television about ten years ago, and he’s still remembered today.
He wouldn’t be the first entertainer to host – Ryan Seacrest and Carrie Keagan have done it before – but David Letterman has a long history with rock music. He famously gave early exposure to bands like R.E.M., Weezer, and The White Stripes.
Following tradition, the event treated performers and presenters equally. Other well-known attendees included Missy Elliott, Flea, Brandi Carlile, Killer Mike, Beck, and Questlove.
The Hall of Fame announced its new members back in April. Chubby Checker, famous for starting his career with the hit song “The Twist” in 1960, will be inducted as a performer. Joining him will be the influential hip-hop duo Outkast, who are also being recognized for their contributions to music.
The organization previously praised the Georgia duo on Instagram, noting that their innovative albums and popular songs redefined music industry standards and put the ‘Dirty South’ on the map as a major center for creativity.
Outkast continues to influence music today, inspiring artists like Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, and Janelle Monáe, and playing a key role in the rise of the Atlanta music scene.
As a huge music and film fan, I’m really excited to hear that Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Salt-N-Pepa, Warren Zevon, and some incredible behind-the-scenes names like Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, and Lenny Waronker are all being inducted! The ceremony at the Peacock Theater on November 8th is going to be amazing – recognizing all these artists is fantastic.
Starting October 31st, fans can celebrate the new Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees with a visit to the Cleveland museum. The exhibit will feature memorable items like the outfit Andre 3000 wore in the “Hey Ya!” video and the original handwritten lyrics to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.”
