It seems unlikely that a third M3GAN movie will bring back the writer/director, Gerard Johnstone.

He shared that he poured all his ideas into “M3GAN 2.0,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. “With potentially four more films in this series, it’s possible I might return for the fifth installment,” he hinted.

He contributed to Radio Times with the statement: “This is where my journey ends. I’ve been involved in these films since I received the initial script in 2018, so it’s been a significant part of my career, and I’ve poured every ounce of effort into this film because of that.

However, should Allison Williams’ plans come to fruition, we might witness a third M3GAN film, even without any hints in the closing credits.

She expressed that our ambitions are grand and I still haven’t reached the point where I feel we’ve finished making these films. With this team, this style, and these themes, I’ve been imagining a third one for sure, as she shared with The Hollywood Reporter.
