Doechii insists she was ‘right’ to call out President Donald Trump after LA protests to ICE raids as she poses for stunning British Vogue shoot
Doechii asserts that it was appropriate for her to criticize President Donald Trump‘s handling of the protest crackdown, following positive feedback from fans regarding her heartfelt address at the BET Awards.
In her victory speech at the event, the 26-year-old rapper spoke out about the demonstrations happening in central Los Angeles concerning mass deportations and ICE operations. This action prompted the President to send the National Guard, an action that has been met with controversy.
In conversation with British Vogue, Doechii expressed: “I’m still quite sensitive, and it seemed fitting. I felt compelled to leverage that opportunity, as it was happening live, so they had no way to stop me.
The acclaimed songwriter graced a striking photo session with the magazine, leaving everyone amazed in a daring see-through beaded dress adorned with pearls and a playful orange feathered minidress.
At the recent BET Awards where she won Best Female Hip Hop Artist for the very first time, Doechii seized the opportunity of her acceptance speech to voice her concerns about the ongoing controversies surrounding ICE raids in Los Angeles.
Following her expression of gratitude for the recognition from BET, she remarked: “Though deeply appreciative of this accolade, I feel it necessary to speak about the events unfolding beyond these walls,” she stated, receiving applause.

In simpler terms, “Harsh actions under the guise of maintaining ‘Law & Order’ are causing terror and disorder within our neighborhoods. Trump is deploying troops to quell demonstrations.” She further commented on this.
She pointed out that whenever we exercise our democratic freedom to demonstrate, it seems like the military is sent to confront us instead of upholding our rights as citizens.
She stated, “Which kind of governance is in place there? The treatment of individuals being forcibly separated from their families stirs a sense of duty within me as an artist to utilize this situation and advocate for the rights of oppressed people everywhere,” drawing further cheers.
In a heartfelt message, she expressed: ‘Regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or geographical location – whether Black, Latino, transgender, or residing in Gaza – we all deserve to live with optimism rather than fear. May we unite and stand strong against hatred. I echo this call, my fellow human beings, as one race: the human race. Let’s protest together against prejudice. Thank you, BET!’
In her conversation with British Vogue, Doechii likewise disclosed her aspirations for her musical crafting process.
She expressed her desire to uphold this tradition and its origins, while making it understandable for children who might be under the influence at a festival.
In response to the past bullying she experienced, Doechii stated, “I am Doechii. It’s the very same powerful voice that people often associate with biblical figures which resides within me.
Apart from the acclaim she garnered, Lady Gaga, another renowned songwriter, expressed admiration for Doechii, stating, “It’s not common to encounter an artist who writes with a pen that instantly exudes legendary quality. For me, that’s Doechii.

I was deeply captivated by her music, her authentic and intimately revealing style. Her words held immense power, her vulnerability resonated deeply, the way she skillfully weaves rhyme with a bold yet emotionally accurate blend – it touched me profoundly.
Later on, Doechii contemplated on other prominent figures in the field, remarking: “There isn’t truly a superstar of this era as of now, mainly due to the insufficient passage of time.
When observing current pop culture, I’m pondering the question: ‘What characteristics define a Doechii superstar? What steps are required to achieve this status? To be honest, I’m still trying to decipher these mysteries myself.’
After a viral video emerged showing Doechii seemingly yelling at her assistants, allegations of rudeness towards them surfaced, occurring just before her highly-anticipated Met Gala entrance.
In videos that went viral before the biggest fashion event, the artist known as “The Anxiety Rapper” appeared to be shouting for additional umbrellas while trying to leave The Mark Hotel.
The situation started unfolding as Doechii attempted to leave a hotel elevator, promptly surrounded by photographers in the lobby upon her exit.
In the midst of the commotion, her team swiftly tried to conceal her from the paparazzi using a large white clothing rack as a barrier. Additionally, they had already provided Doechii with an umbrella for protection.
In videos shared on TikTok, Doechii was then heard loudly telling her crew: ‘Yes, I’m ready.’
She then shouted, ‘Give me another umbrella, now!’ before adding, ‘And another, go!’
The team members subsequently called for spectators to make way, allowing them to move the wardrobe-turned-screen out of the hotel, while Doechii concealed herself within it. However, the uproar persisted.
Upon departing the hotel, the group took great care to ensure that Doechii was adequately protected from the rain.
‘Don’t let her hair get wet,’ one was heard saying.
However, the frenzy seemed unabated as Doechii made an effort to reach her sprinter van, ensuring no one managed to catch a glimpse prematurely.
Certain social media enthusiasts openly expressed disapproval towards the artist, voicing their opinions quite frankly about her demeanor.
Some individuals swiftly came to Doechii’s aid, suggesting that her actions might have stemmed from being under immense pressure and stress.
