Dodgers’ World Series victory scores 26 million viewers on Fox

Saturday’s exciting 11-inning victory for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Toronto Blue Jays drew the largest audience for a World Series game since 2017, according to Nielsen ratings.

An average of 25.5 million people watched the Dodgers win their second straight World Series on Fox during the Game 7 broadcast.

The broadcast on Fox Deportes and Fox Sports streaming platforms attracted nearly 26 million viewers.

The Dodgers’ 5-4 victory drew the biggest World Series audience since 2017, when the Houston Astros won Game 7 and attracted 28.3 million viewers.

This number was 10% higher than it was during the final game of the 2019 World Series, when the Washington Nationals won against the Astros.

Netflix and NBCUniversal are the latest additions to the group of streaming services – including TBS, Fox, ESPN, Apple TV+, and Roku – that will broadcast Major League Baseball games. This deal marks a significant step forward in how MLB delivers games to fans through streaming.

Saturday’s game will be remembered as a classic World Series matchup, featuring incredible defensive plays and a game-winning home run from Dodgers catcher Will Smith.

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was named MVP after a dominant relief appearance secured his third win of the series.

The audience level peaked between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. Pacific, with 31.5 million viewers tuned in.

The Dodgers achieved a historic feat, becoming the first Major League Baseball team in a quarter-century to win championships in two consecutive years.
