Peter Capaldi, best known as Doctor Who, recently explained why he declined an invitation to appear on the reality show The Celebrity Traitors. His reason was surprisingly simple. The show, a spin-off from a BBC series, aired last year and was won by Alan Carr, who successfully avoided being identified as a Traitor by the other contestants.
Fans can expect a new season of the hit gameshow later this year. Everyone’s wondering which celebrities will join host Claudia Winkleman at the castle in the Scottish Highlands.
Peter Capaldi revealed on the BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg that he was asked to be part of the next season, but he declined the offer. He explained that he had a significant reason for turning it down.

He shared that he dislikes the intense public attention that comes with a certain level of fame. He explained that it’s hard for people in the music industry to grasp his desire to keep things more private and low-key.
Although the cast for season two of The Celebrity Traitors hasn’t been officially announced, rumors suggest Danny Dyer, Liam Gallagher, and Alison Hammond might be appearing.

Ruth Jones, known for her role in Gavin & Stacey, has confirmed she was asked to be in the new season but decided not to participate.

During a February appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Danny Dyer, known for his role on EastEnders, firmly denied rumors that he’d be in the show’s second season. However, he added that he would be willing to make an appearance if invited.
Several other celebrities have reportedly declined offers to appear on the show, including comedian Ricky Gervais, Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, author Richard Osman, The Apprentice star Karren Brady, and MoneySavingExpert Martin Lewis.
You can watch seasons one through four of The Traitors, plus The Celebrity Traitors, on BBC iPlayer. Another season of The Celebrity Traitors is coming later this year.
