Doctor Who’s Ncuti Gatwa reacts to new waxwork model

As a huge fan of Doctor Who, I am absolutely thrilled to see Ncuti Gatwa, the brilliant actor who brings the Fifteenth Doctor to life, receiving such an incredible honor – a waxwork model at Madame Tussauds!

Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa has shared his amazed reaction to getting a waxwork model.

The actor’s image has been duplicated at Madame Tussauds, making him an icon, and he appears to be just as thrilled about it as everyone else.

The wax museum shared a preview of Gatwa’s figure on Instagram before its opening to the public starting July 19. They posted a video of the actor seeing it for the first time.

I’m blown away, I exclaim, as Russell T. Davies, the mastermind behind Doctor Who, confesses that the resemblance is “strikingly accurate.”

“It’s the teeth,” the actor goes on to notice, Davies calling it a “[once] in a lifetime smile”.

The show producer remarked, “He’s perfectly portrayed you, not only in appearance but also in spirit. It radiantly comes across from him.”

“I just don’t know how you’ve done it. It’s so brilliant, it’s brilliant!” Gatwa goes on to say.

I can’t believe the latest turn of events in my life! After sharing the clip on Instagram, I found myself exclaiming in disbelief: “What’s happening to me?”

Last year marked Gatwa’s first appearance as the Fifteenth Doctor on the show, while this year we’ve had the chance to watch all episodes of his initial season unfold.

Before making my grand entrance as the Doctor, I shared some insights about crafting my character. I confessed that Millie Gibson, who brilliantly played Ruby Sunday, left a significant impact on me and subtly influenced my portrayal.

When Millie Gibson entered the audition room, I felt a clear vision for this character’s development inside me, almost as if I could already see the next steps in the game. (Gatwa speaking to Digital Spy and other media)

“The relationship between the Doctor and the companion plays a crucial role in the series. They both learn from each other, with the companion influencing the Doctor significantly.”

The moment you entered, I felt a strong sense of nostalgia and thought, this is where I’d like to bring the Doctor – reminiscing about our past escapades that could have gotten us into trouble at school.

In the United Kingdom, you can watch “Doctor Who” on BBC One, while viewers outside of the UK can find it on Disney+. For those in the UK, older episodes of “Doctor Who” can be accessed on BBC iPlayer.
