Doctor Who’s Jenna Coleman gives birth to first child
As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for British television, I must say I am thrilled to see yet another beloved actress, Jenna Coleman, embarking on this new phase of her life – motherhood. Having watched her portray Queen Victoria’s tumultuous journey through the ITV drama, it feels as if she has been preparing for this role in real life all along!
Doctor Who and The Sandman star Jenna Coleman has given birth to her first child.
This week, photographs of the actress and her partner, Jamie Childs, surfaced in London. The Sun newspaper published images where Jenna was seen pushing a stroller while Jamie carried the newborn in a baby carrier.
As I write this, it appears Jenna has yet to announce the baby’s arrival on social media. However, she did post a picture of her baby bump on Instagram back in September, suggesting that her summer was dedicated to something special, like preparing for a new addition.
In 2022, during promotional interviews for “The Sandman,” the actress discussed her thoughts on having children. She met her partner while filming the series in 2000. She expressed that she doesn’t feel pressured about having kids because some of her friends have them, and others don’t.
“I want to take my time. There’s a whole lot more of the world for me to see first. I’d love to have children one day. But not nine of them. I can tell you that as a fact.”
Fun fact for “Doctor Who” enthusiasts, it so happens that Jenna’s previous co-star in the companion role, Karen Gillan, is expecting as well. She showcased her baby bump at a red carpet event last month.
Currently, the entirety of Jenna’s ITV series titled “Victoria,” consisting of three seasons, has been added to Netflix. Throughout the show, Jenna portrays the Queen starting from her ascension to the throne at 18 years old, up until her early 30s. During this period, she grapples with governing, a struggling marriage, and raising six children.
In 2021, ITV stated that a fourth season wasn’t being pursued, but it might happen one day.
